Had to travel with a colleague to London for work today so took the Switch with me. There is just something so great about being able to stick it up on the stand, hand a joy con over to someone else and play some games wherever you are!

We even managed to get a bit of an audience during our Mario Kart session, happy times! :toot:

Can you play the Switch in one-player mode with the Joycons detached?

Yep, for some games it's the preferred mode - Mario Odyssey for example.

Looks like you could cut yourself on the edges on rocket league. I will probably still buy it for a third time

Can I have my friend code added to the Switch Squad please? Had the silky slab since day one. Thought it was time to join the team.

I think it will get better with time. I think they rushed it to get a decent frame rate on each map and if they optimise it a bit we will see big improvements immediately.

The aquadome map is by far the worst one I've seen. I swear the res drops even more that it has for that map.

Ok now I'm getting a wee bit worried. I'm getting a Switch for Xmas with Mario and Zelda. I thought this'd be fine. Now though, I want. Want has consumed my life. I want, no, need:

- Skyrim
- Mario Kart
- Stardew Valley
- Golf Story
- Doom

At a minimum.

I'd probably recommend Mario + Rabbids and Splatoon 2 as well.

Switch has had a ridiculous first year in terms of good games.

Check out some of our stuff!

Taf, I'd pretty strongly rec ARMS. It's a quirky (mostly-)online fighting game with a lot of charm. It has regular free updates with new characters and weapons, too.

HHHNRHG *dies*

There's so much stuff I want to try! Do ARMS and Rabbids have local MP modes?

ARMS has 2-4 splitscreen multiplayer, frame rate drops to 30 for 3-4 but I believe you can still play every mode aside from co-op Story and online.

Rabbids has 2 player co-op challenge levels, though you have to get a ways in to access them as you unlock a batch per world.

Excited for you to join the Switch club sir :toot:

Good to see more GRcadians on the Switch train, it's a great little machine - super glad I got it this year instead of waiting!
