I'm crazy excited considering Nintendo's form at the moment.

Great to see month Zelda and Mario among the 5 Game Of The Year nominees. They'll probably split the vote though. I wonder if Nintendo will announce anything for the TGAs. Perhaps drop a Zelda DLC story trailer.

Nintendo have stated that they plan to keep the consistent release schedule they’ve had since the Switch’s release going next year. It’s worth noting that at the moment we don’t have any confirmed future releases from Nintendo’s internal teams. Of the titles confirmed for next year, Fire Emblem is Intelligent Systems, Yoshi is Good Feel and Pokemon is Gamefreak.

They did have a busy 2017 (6 titles on Switch by my count, 3 of which have had DLC) but you’d assume they have some big games in the pipeline for next year. Metroid Prime 4 might be an internal title but there are rumours circulating that Bandai Namco are in charge of development there which wouldn’t surprise me. Pikmin 4 is a good bet for 2018 based on past comments from Miyamoto, as is Animal Crossing with Nintendo’s approach to their mobile game strategy. Outside of that, it’s anyone guess really. Smash Bros, a 2D Mario/Mario Maker, Paper Mario, Captain Toad, Starfox, Wario Ware, Nintendoland, even a Wii Sports under a new name…I’d be surprised if we didn’t get at least one of those, even if they’ve also got a new IP/revival of an old IP in the works, as they’ve hinted at.

On top of that, you have the other developers in Nintendo’s wider stable, such as Retro (who surely must have something near completion), Next Level Games (who will be on Luigi Mansion 3 in my opinion, especially after 2’s success on 3DS), Camelot (there’s probably a Mario sports game of some kind in the works) and Grezzo (maybe a HD port of Skyward Sword). Would not be surprised to see Monster Games taking over the reigns for Donkey Kong from Retro too, after their work on the 3DS conversion of DKC Returns. Or maybe even the long rumoured Diddy Kong Racing 2, with their racing game experience. Bayonetta in some form has been hinted at by the developer too. And after Mario x Rabbids who knows who else they may have entered into partnerships with.

Obviously, a lot of the above is speculation/wishful thinking on my part but I think they’ll know they need a strong second year to follow up 2017’s success. Not to mention the fact where previously they’ve had to support a console and a handheld, they now have one device to focus on.

I want to know what From Software are working on. They were on that image of partners back at the Switch announcement and we've not heard anything from them yet.

Would be crazy if they were the Bandai Namco team working on Metroid. While I'd be ecstatic for Dark Souls ports it would be nice to see something different from them. Maybe even a return to Armored Core would be interesting.

I think it'll be Dark Souls ports rather than something new.

Nintendo seem keen to have more mature titles in the library and the way they've been achieving that is third party ports. After the Wii U I think a new Nintendo console would have been a hard sell but ports are obviously a lower risk for the developer.

I've been keeping an eye out but I seriously doubt it. Black Friday = gooseberry fool Retailers Want to Get Rid Of. Switch consoles are definitely not in that category.

I’m sure I read a rumour that an eShop “Black Friday” sale will start tomorrow... but, yeah, the eShop isn’t exactly renowned for big price cuts .

Portable Dark Souls will have a greater effect on crime rates then all the GTAs combined.

The Resident Evil Revelations double pack isn't getting a cartridge release in Europe.

Tl;dr Capcom won't pay out for larger Switch carts. A bit frustrating as it would have been cool to have the Revelations duo on a cart.

I suspect more and more will go that way as the carts are expensive and as they would need to downlaod stuff to the SD anyway they may as well be just download titles.

Captain Toad is such a cute character, I would 100% play the little guy's game.

The first Captain Toad was a great little game. Don't think the first sold that well but hopefully Nintendo won't count that against it given it was on the Wii U. Would love a sequel.
