If you ever plan on buying a 2k game on Switch, you absolutely need a memory card.

I've downloaded Super Mario and Mario Kart and I needed an SD card to play the cart version of LA Noire

Basically if you’re only going to buy Nintendo titles on cart you’ll be ok, however if you’re going to buy third party games you’ll need an SD card.

Ok, so add about thirty quid to the price of any switch bundle to factor in a 128gb memory card. Got it.

Cheers folks!

One odd thing with the internal storage vs SD cards; you'll actually get better load times on the former, as Digital Foundry goes into here:

So if it's a relatively small game w/loading times you're likely to load up often, you may want it there instead. Only annoying is the Switch doesn't let you choose from a menu where you want to download software to...as far as I know, the only way is to turn off the Switch, remove the SD card, turn it back on and then download the game.

You can't move software from SD card to internal or vice versa either, desperately hope they patch that functionality in =/

My Mrs bought me axiom verge

I've got it on ps4 and I didn't get that far before wishing I'd bought it on my vita instead so I stopped playing waiting for a cross save patch that never came.

Perfect game for handheld play :datass:

Yeah, the file management is super-basic, Jazzem - not even up to the Wii U file management options. Lke you, I'm hoping that Nintendo is working on adding in this kind of functionaliy.

Indeed! While I vastly prefer the Switch OS for the most part, there are a few features Wii U still has the upper hand on. So strange to think it had messaging from day one, something we're still missing nearly a year later on Switch :/

Definitely, dude. I want to be able to do more than just spy on what my friends are playing... I want to freak them out with odd comments talk to them in a responsible way, too ;) .

I can see them having a big overhaul of the Switch OS adding all the features people have been wanting. I also expect a new layout for the Eshop

Ha!

Although be careful...imagine how many "why aren't you playing Zelda" messages you'll get while playing Letter Quest or something similar D:

I could definitely see the eshop needing some tweaking once the library grows so large. It's so easy for many titles to get buried in cluttered marketplace interfaces

Gotten back into Mario today, perfect comedown cure. It's so inventive, creative and just damn fun. Incredible game design.

Played through Oxenfree last night. Really enjoyed it.

My ending was as follows:

Everyone on the boat including Clarissa. Ren and Nona together and Alex/Jonas best buds. Then it kicked back into the loop...

Without spoiling anything, is it worth a second play through?

I haven't finished it yet, but apparently there are differences the second time around.

As for my time with it, I'm at the Adler Estate having just gotten the keys to the boat. Am now going to open the bunker.

It started strong but has gotten a little tedious as its gone on. The "games" it makes you play are incredibly unfair to the point I suspect you are supposed to fail them on your first time through, necessitating a replay. This could be an effective chiller of a game if the strawberry floating dialogue wasn't so Buffy-esque all the time. Everyone reacts to ghosts appearing and friends being possessed with dull shock at best and actual jokes at worse and it's completely ruining the atmosphere for me.

I ventured on the eshop last night, so many indie games that I've never heard of or will ever play

Having gone back to this on a whim today to 100% it, I concur with your sentiments

If it's not my favourite Mario (which it might honestly be), it's probably technically the best one. Can't think of another 3D game that controls as elegantly.

*With the exception of gold suit, metal hat+suit and that bloody expensive skeleton suit D:

I agree. They haven’t quite nailed the right tone in the dialogue. It’s atmospheric but not scary and the characters indifference to their predicament definitely contributes that. Still a very enjoyable game to play through but the execution isn’t quite what it could have been.
