Specifically, it's USB-C. And like previous Nintendo handhelds, the adapter is built into the plug, so no separate brick.

Joined the Switch brigade today (well technically yesterday but only just hooked it up). First impressions are great. Easy to set up and it auto powers the tv on and off etc as I would like it to. Time to get a screen protector. Are the ozri(or something) ones on Amazon ok? Glass and the top seller makes me think that it will be up to the job, but any alternative recommendations appreciated.
Just started Octopath demo... as lovely as I anticipated.

Welcome, Frankenstein, to Switch Squad! I guess you could be thinking about going on an Odyssey at the end of the month?

Thanks for the welcome guys!
Jawa - I knew I could rely on you for the welcome! My thanks as always. And yes, Let's say Mario was a big driver for me. And Golf Story.

Kj - I will root around for the code and post it up. Please add me everyone, I will endeavour to do the same.

Was thinking of picking up the Metal Slug games but I have a question, 4 games are on Switch but from what I understand X is just a remake of 2? Should I just get Metal Slug, X and 3 and leave 2 or is there a reason to get 2?

Yeah, Milner, I believe that X is a "remake" of 2 that sorted out a few bugs and tightened up the gameplay. I'm not a Slug expert but, unless you're a massive fan of the series, I don't think it'd be worth getting 2 if you have X.

This is what I thought, seems silly to buy 2 if X is the same game but better

Nintendo has added a “Current offers” section to the eShop. Small steps but it’ll make it easier to know when games are on sale :toot: .

What would be really, really good, is if they added the eShop to the Switch app so that you could make purchases on your account from your phone when you're out and about.

Joined the Switch crowd, Switch with Zelda and MK8 at Smyths for £351 which thought was pretty good! Bought a pro con separately too, glad I did feels awesome.

Ridiculously impressed, even better (and bigger, in a good way) as a handheld than I thought. Surprised how well the joy cons work separately for MK8 as well considering I have massive shovel hands.

Can't wait to beast Zelda (oi oi) more tonight and have a look at some of the indies recommended here :datass:

You know what's happening, 'Oyster... welcome... WELCOME to the MIGHTY Switch Squad!

It's amazing how many folk have picked up Zelda and Kart with their systems :-). Maybe you'd be up for joining the Kart sessions each Tuesday night (or Monday from November)? And, yeah, the Pro Controller really is so comfortable to use.

Cheers Jawa, feels good :toot: I'll get my code put up later when home, definitely be up for some Monday night racing (few weeks to get better...).

Mario Odyssey, Skyrim and Xenoblade by year end. Good grief.

Still debating in my head whether to pick one up next Friday with Odyssey or wait until black Friday for the possibility of a better deal.

I do have next Friday and the following week off work.

X is more a remix than a remake. I might be wrong but it has levels from 1 and 2 and there are changes to the enemies and other things that happen. I'd say both are worth playing.

Those were the first 2 games I got when I bought mine :toot:

Every new Switch owner needs to do the right thing and buy Mario + Rabbids

Doom on 10 November and Skyrim on 17th... wow! It’ll be brilliant to discover how these run on the Switch.

Pondering a switch.

What’s the thinking with physical vs download? I’ve been download only this gen (PS4 and Vita), but would go physical for the main 1st party stuff if there was a benefit to doing so. Are there any performance differences between download and carts?
