Consider Picross S. Much cheaper......................and better.
Thanks, will have a look into it.
On another note, I've just treated myself to the Switch Charging Dock stand which Poser posted the link to above. Of all the stands, it looked by far the sturdiest and nicest.
I'm a week and a half into Switch ownership and I still love it. Obviously there's nothing like playing the GotG to get your console off to a great start. Haven't even taken the cellophane off Rabbids yet, and I've asked for Mario Kart for Xmas. Will also get Steamworld Dig 2 when i get the chance.
There's just something about Nintendo games, though, right? As I've posted before, my wife has no interest in games, but was watching me play Odyssey last night. Started asking how come the lava was hot sometimes and not at others. Which led to an explanation of the game mechanics, etc and she seemed genuinely interested.
Playing a bit of Yooka Laylee on Switch. It’s very nice, lots of Banjo feel about it. The camera is a little over responsive but apart from that it’s great fun, and one we can play together as a family.

Thumbs up so far from me.
Is there a physical release planned? If there is, I'll definitely get it
Pinball FX 3 has released in the eShop in classic Sega Saturn style i.e. right now! The main shell is free and you can also currently download the “Carnivals and Legends” set for free.
Other tables are available as paid downloads but not the full range; the biggest tables currently listed are Walking Dead, Portal, Universal Classics and Aliens. None of the Marvel ones are there yet .
I had read that, as on other formats, owners of past versions would get free (or cheaper) upgrade options but there doesn’t seem to be that facility for Wii U owners . That is a shame but I’ll still check this out - especially to see how the tate screen mode works out .

They're not cheap, no.
The way I looked at it, was that you're essentially getting two controllers in the pack so it would be cheaper than buying two PS4 pads. One additional set of Joycons and you're set up for 4-Player stuff such as MK, Bomberman etc.
There was a set that came with a download code for Snipperclips at one point, but I'm not sure if that's still available.
It surely has to outsell the Wii U’s total lifespan by March now. It’s one hell of a comeback from Nintendo regardless. And deservedly so, Switch has rekindled my enthusiasm for modern video games
For anyone on the fence, my copy of WWE 2k18 turned up today.
Had a quick go and first impressions aren't great..
I'd say, if you mostly play in one vs one matches it actually runs fine for those from what I've seen so far. Had a few of these both in docked and portable mode and seems fine, it seemed smoother in docked mode but looked better in portable (looks like it's running the same resolution in both so the bigger screen shows up jaggies more etc..).
Any more than two in the ring though and it slows down a lot.. I tried a one vs one match with a manager for each wrestler and this slowed it down a ton to the point it was at best, barely playable.
I also tried a six man match and it wasn't playable at all.
So yeah, if you're happy with one on one matches the game in those plays about the same as the other versions - it's fine. Looks surprisingly good, obviously lower resolution than the other console versions and some bits seem to be paired back but it's surprisingly close to the other version on the whole.. perhaps too close which is why I suspect they're having so many frame rate issues.
Audio has a lot of glitches in all modes and the entrances suffer huge frame rate issues.. so basically what's been reported elsewhere. Even had it crash for me once during a match and had to exit the game.
I feel like a lot of the sound issues and crashes could be fixed with a patch.. i'm less hopeful of the frame rate but I hope they can at least get it so the entrances and tag team matches are playable, even if they cut out the six man matches at this point I could live with that.
It's nice they've got all the content here but I think they'd have been better served making a game specifically for Switch like EA did with Fifa or even, ported something from last years engine and updated the roster.. with any luck it's just this years was a rush job after being announced later than the other versions, hopefully next year they'll work on it alongside the other consoles and have plenty of time to make a Switch specific title or at least optimize it properly.. fingers crossed this years game can be patched.. there's definitely potential here if they bother to fix it.
Right now I'd only recommend it if you're happy to overlook some glitches and play one vs one matches and even then, only if you get it cheap.. if they can fix the issues then it should deffo be worth a look down the line.
Haven't got my console to hand, but does the wire disconnect from the plug/dock and let you charge via USB like the vita does?
On a long plane journey next week and want to lay the Switch. But the reason I always take my Vita over my 3DS is because the former I can charge via the USB socket at my seat whereas the other I need the plug.
Otherwise the Switch is going to last about three hours and then be dead for the entire journey.
I have charged my Switch via a standard USB to USB-C phone cable before. I've noticed that if you're playing, the console will still slowly drain, but it lasts a lot longer than it would on just battery.

Took my Switch on a direct flight to Beijing a week after it came out. The usb socket on the plane was a bit rubbish iirc and hardly drew any power so I used my portable charger instead (which still isn't great, but it makes the console last longer than without).
Anyone had their Switch freeze on them? Last night it was stuck with a black screen but the backlight hadn't gone off so I had to hold down the power button for an extended amount of time once or twice to revive it. Luckily it is working fine again now but it does make me wish there was a save backup procedure just incase it gets lost/dies/stolen etc.
