I'm quite surprised by that, Drum - although I could see your stance if you're not too keen on indie titles?

I've no issue with indie titles - a good game is a good game regardless of who developed it - there's just nothing on there's that's grabbed me.

I checked out that Oxenfree game that a few here have been buzzing about but it doesn't butter my bread. I am interested in Rocket League but not sure if it has a worthwhile single-player mode and I'm going to check out the two RE games when their price goes down but other than that the only thing I was interested in Chromagun which seems like a poor man's Portal.

Sounds like you need some jam.

And there is only one game that allows full scale jam manufacturing, you need some Stardew Valley in your life.

Yeah the eshop has a great selection of games,

Oxenfree, Golf Story, Steamworld Dig 2, Stardew Valley are just a few available at the moment with the likes of Owlboy, Celeste and Night in the Woods coming up over the next month

I am generally not interested in the plethora of top down games or side-scrollers that the eShop has to offer. I was recommended Yooka-Laylee but it's priced at £40 despite being available on PS4 (not that I own one) for £15.

I appreciate the suggestions, Milner. I watched some trailers for the games you suggested but they all seem like side-scrollers.

Snake Pass, Fast RMX, SnipperClips, Tiny Metal, Gorogoa, Morphite, Thimbleweed Park.

Sure there are lots of great top down and sidescrolling games too (not sure why you'd just dismiss those two genres, as the descriptions can encompass a whole range of different experiences), but they aren't the only games worth looking at.

Hmmm how about World to the West? I think this year will see a lot more third party content head to Switch so maybe in the coming months more games will come that will be of interest

Rocket League a brilliant fun but it’s only worthwhile if you’re gonna play online

On the whole these look interesting and are more what I'm after. Thanks.

Looks like they put Zangief in his own version of Zelda 4 Swords.

Looked alright but again didn't pull me in. I really liked the look of Snake Pass and Fast RMX.

For downloadable titles, I'd suggest Letter Quest Remastered (word-building RPG), Enter the Gungeon (shooty-shooty Rogue), Rocket League (superb online car-football), SteamWorld Heist (turn-based 2D shooter RPG), The End is Nigh (nails-tough 2D platforming) and Morphite (simple 3D space adventure).

Would prob recommend Stardew Valley (Harvest Moon-type farm management) as well but I've barely played it yet.

With respect it is very deep, very. Keep playing and you will learn. Good purchase; massively underrated.

Yeah it really is hugely underrated. Very fun, totally accessible and deep deep deep.

Got to say the "just one more" effect of Arms is huge. The online battles and events really add more interest then the single player arcade. Find it relatively rough to play on the joy cons (no motion control) but on the pro pad it's great.

From what I've played, Snipperclips was hilarious in co-op.

Snipperclips is pretty much the best game on the Switch but it's far too short. We got through the four-player co-op levels in an hour or two.

I've not played it but I believe the new "Snipperclips+" adds quite a few new levels to the package? The expansion can be bought separately through the eShop for existing owners.

Dude. That's not jam. That's just... total strawberry floating marmalade. [/Hans]

Had two Switch imports arrive this morning - Monster Hunter XX from Japan and Ittle Dew 2+ from the US. Monster Hunter will sit neglected as I play world, but I'll be jumping into Ittle Dew tonight.

It comes with a full colour manual, which is really nicely designed and bursting with art. It also comes with a small fold-up map, which is wonderful.

Best Switch packaging yet :toot:

Most of the game is in the 1-2 player mode. You get an extra 3 stages for party mode each time you complete a world in the 1-2 player mode now too.

The DLC adds two new worlds to the 1-2 player mode and extra unlocks for the Party mode as well as new modes for Blitz and an option to play each level as a randomly generated shape.

So many games I want to come to Switch

Undertale
Hotline Miami 1 & 2
Spelunky
Rogue Legacy
Bastion
Transistor
Pyre
Gucamelee
Hyper Light Drifter

All would be a perfect fit on Switch! Hoping we have another 'Nindie showcase' soon and all the above are announced
