Bloody hell, I had Pikmin 3 in my head as an already later June but it was even further after that! They really did improve tenfold with Switch's release schedule

The whole "launch window" bullshit with WiiU was a joke.

Yes but it was a bloody brilliant game. Where is Switch Pikmin, where?!

Still being worked on apparently, I assume its will be one of the 2018 exclusives

Yep, almost definitely.

So, here's my thing.
The only two games I play on my wiiU are BOTW and Mk8
Both are now available on the switch.

My arm is in a cast until last week of October - so essentially I've only got one or two MK mondays at best before they remove the tournament online functionality.

If I trade in my WiiU, controllers etc at CEX - I'd get a ton or so of store credit and I could just get a switch instead.
Seems a no brainer tbh.

If you are ok to order today, I think you'd probably be better off purchasing the Switch from either Amazon or Tesco with the current money off vouchers (these offers end today) and then get cash for your Wii U from CEX (or maybe better off selling on Ebay?).

CEX currently sell the Switch for £320 (or £330 for the Neon version), Switch with voucher is £254 from Amazon.

Ah ok. I'm in no rush as I can't play for at least five weeks anyway but thanks for that mate.

I guess it depends, Denster... for me, I still like the Wi U and I have a fair few games to play on it - and I would want to keep it as a part of my collection. However, if you only want to play BoTW and Kart and you don't want to keep the system then, yeah, perhaps it is time to sell it on. The Switch can be bought from Amazon for £254 at the moment although you'd also want to drop around £90 on Zelda BotW and Kart... plus maybe £56 on a Pro Controller.

Just looked and cex offer £53 for a Wii U :fp:

That wouldn't even cover the cost of a strawberry floating controller for the switch.

As long as you don't do it before the last ever Mario Kart Monday on Wii U...that will no doubt be an epic, spectacular final show-down, in which I fully intend to beat you once and for all :toot:

I'm actually in a similar situation - those are currently the only 2 games I would play on my Wii U.

Saying that, the reason I am hanging on to my Wii U and won't sell it, is that there's no guarantee that Nintendo will release the Wii U Mario (3D World and New U) games, or the other 2 Zelda games (Wind Waker and Twilight Princess) on the Switch. Plus, Wii U has one of my favourite games of all time - Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze.

Yeah, the worst time for selling any console is just as it is fading from popularity. I feel that the Wii U console and games will become quite collectible a few years down the line; particularly the Gamepads as they will be pretty much impossible to replace (unless you purchase a whole second-hand system).

Yeah but they charge £51 more for a Switch than the RRP, so actually store credit is worse if your aim is to buy a Switch.

Plus you'll be getting a stolen switch.

Looks like there is a nes golf game hidden in the switch firmware:

That's the really frustrating thing for me, the Wii-U has a really good catalogue now that I wish could be ported over to the Switch so that I could ditch the older console.

So, after taking my Switch on hols for a week and playing 'I am a Satsuma' on it in handheld mode, I've set it up to play through the dock on the big screen. Wow, what a difference, suddenly the game looks great, (still plays clunky though...). I get the feeling I'll mainly be playing through the dock but using handheld mode as needed. Love this system!

Picked up NBA 2K18 from the eshop, really enjoying it so far. Surprised just how well the graphics hold up on Switch too, I was expected a pretty major downgrade from current gen but this looks pretty great - watched a few comparison videos and the differences look minor enough that it's not that noticeable, though I read it's 30fps vs 60 on xbone/ps4 but still, all things considered it makes me hopeful that more current gen titles will get Switch ports with just some minor downgrades.. I'm quite excited now to see what WWE 2K18 will be like on it as that should be fun to play on the go and if it's anything like NBA should play and look comparatively well compared to the more powerful console versions.

Stuff like this, Skyrim, WWE, DOOM and Wolfenstein hopefully will be the start of much more stuff coming over.. it'd be nice to get more new stuff like this/WWE/Wolfenstein but older stuff like Skyrim, Doom and the Wii U conversions I guess help fill out the library nicely too. Still hoping Bayonetta 1&2 make the jump or ideally, a new game with the first two included for a nice trilogy pack.
