The appeal of this thing is insane btw, just by playing it at lunch in the office I've had 5 people say how cool it is and that they want one.

I'm desperate for one, but at the moment I just don't have the cash. Once the car's service and MOT are out the way, and I've possibly moved house, I'll be ready to save up for one though.

Took mine back for a refund. I might give it another look when there are some fun games.

Aye, smart move IMO. Christmas is probably the earliest this will have a library that appeals to you (& games that are good for Mia) and there'll be better bundles for it by then.

Hosting a game of Bomberman. Anyone who wants in, search for friend games.

3 and a half hours later and I've finally stopped playing Bomberman with Dragon adn Devlin.

That was awesome.

It really was good. Need to get more people on so I can be annihilated by even more GRcade members.

Question, are you able to adjust the rumble for the Joycons? Like, are you able to turn it up? I've got those grips on mine and I can't hardly feel any rumble while playing Graceful Explosion Machine

I got the demo for Puyo Puyo Tetris and had a really good time so went to buy it on eshop, but it's not out until next week?! Why are they waiting until the day before Mario Kart is out to release this?

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

This is £258 on Amazon right now. Tempted, just need a range of games that appeal.

Yes?

Honestly I have no idea, I've had it since it came out in Japan (since language isn't an issue obviously) and it makes no sense they've waited 2 months to release it. Maybe the localisation wasn't complete or it was some Tetris Company license fuckery.

Not any more. £279.99 for Grey out of stock for another week / £323 for Neon in stock. I got mine from local Smyths Toys, they had loads in store.

If you're tempted by Zelda then get one yes otherwise hold off. Mario Kart 8 is out Friday too.

I've had my Switch less than a week and enjoying it and Zelda. Not tried anything else yet

I'm not. The catalogue has to build substantially or the price needs to fall before I will have a punt.

Yes?

Sounds like the answer is Japan.

The answer is almost always Japan.

It's odd how consoles can appeal to different folk in different ways. I was totally keen on the U right from the initial announcement and yet, with Switch, my desire to jump on board is pretty slim. I'm not out to put the system down and it's clear that some of you folk are really enjoying it but, for me, there are a few aspects I'd want to see improved - and, perhaps unusually, it's not to do with the game range.

> Battery life: sure, it's three hours and you could buy a battery pack but it feels like Nintendo have taken a Game Gear approach to battery life rather than Game Boy
> The cradle looks to have super cheap build quality. Nintendo products are usually pretty well made and the cradle appears to be a step backwards
> Using carts (cards) could be a mistake. I love the idea, but nowdays games are released in unfinished states and updates are pretty standard. The cost and capacity of the carts makes me think the console should have been far more download-focused

As I say, I'm not setting out to dump on the console but, to be honest, I'm not convinced by it at the moment. My views could be a bit harsh as I haven't seen the system IRL, but that is part of the challenge for Nintendo - they have to clearly show positive, desirable aspects of the system in order to get people interested. Perhaps they will do in time; I hope so.
