USB audio is now supported in both docked and undocked modes, meaning various headsets - such as the Playstation Wireless Headset - are now supported natively on the Switch. You just plug it in and - hey! - it works.

However, if you're planning to use them portably you will need some form of USB to USB-C adapter plugged into the bottom of your console, which isn't ideal but it's good to know that it at least works.

Could this mean that Nintendo is about to release its own wireless headphone option? Quite possibly, but if you have access to a pair of wire-free cans already you've got absolutely nothing to lose by trying them out on your Switch to see if they work. Happy days!

It seems that wireless headsets can now be used with the Switch :o . I have the PlayStation headset (2.0 / Gold) so I will be well pleased if they work with it!

I am on the verge of getting a Switch! Maybe...

2 questions - is the Joycon de-synch thing no longer an issue, and are 2 joycons in a holder as good as the Pro pad?

Thanks :)

Looks like Game have them for £279.99, I may as well grab one there.

Any good demos on the online store I could play while waiting for Odyssey?

I haven't heard anyone mention the de-synch issue for a few months now; the good news is that, if you buy a Switch, it woud have been manufactured after the problems with (some) of the initial batch. As for the joy-con holder, it's fine and does the job comfortably enough. The Pro Controller is a lovely accessory, though - and it includes a proper d-pad!

Demos currently available include Snipperclips, Pokken Tournament DX, Rayman Legends, Oceanhorn, Puyo Puyo Tetris, Blaster Master Zero, Disgaea 5 Complete and Spelunker Party. As for good demos... Disgaea 5 is great if you like tactical turn-based battling!

Yeah, the Switch eShop is a bit basic and it doesn't even have a Demo section. You have to search for games individually unless they're in the "top 20" chart. Hopefully, in time, it'll be brought up to the standards of the Wii U eShop :) .

Interesting to see the right Joycon taking longer to update, perhaps the LED notification will finally be enabled.

Edit: can't you just search for the term 'demo' in the eshop? Think I tried that once in the past.

Yeah, I tried that to see what demos were available... but Octopath didn't crop up and I don't know if anything else was missed.

Finall caved and bought Picross S and Golf Story, what an immeasurably addictive pair of games; I'm having to force myself off the Switch on either D:

Hasn't been too well reviewed sadly. Wonder if we'll see other indie horror games hit the system in time, handheld w/earphones is a surprisingly good fit for the genre. Found that playing RE1-3 and Corpse Party through on PSP w/lights off *shudder*

If you want to get one, it'll probably be better to organise it now rather than wait for the day Odyssey releases. They're in stock at most places at the moment, including at Amazon.

still wrote:I have updated my controllers.

It does the red one first, then the blue one. (Or the black one then the other black one if you are a bit boring.....) The red one takes quite a bit longer to update than the blue one.

Nothing at all seems to have changed..... Mmm.

On my system the blue one updated first... and, as you say, the red one took longer!*. It could be because the red (right) one has the infra-red sensor built in?

* Did you buy the red/blue joy-con separately, still, or did they come with the neon console? Only checking because the colours are the opposite way around depending on how you bought them!

Red/blue joy-cons came with the console; not bought separately.

Not sure if you have one near you but I got mine from Smyths last weekend and with Zelda and MK8 came to £351.98 which I thought was pretty good. Weird discounts came off at the till, their MK8 bundle was £319.99 or Zelda £324.99 so not sure how it was worked.

£274.99 for stand alone Switch as well, but Game may well be closer!

Can you filter by cost and set it to free?

Thanks. Also seen it's only 40 minutes in length. I'll get it when it inevitably hits the £3 mark after halloween.
