Finally got my tempered glass screen protector on to a satisfactory standard. Fourth time lucky. :fp: Weirdly the boxes have a different cover, despite being the same product from the same company. Glad that that's over with though.

I've never used my JoyCon very much and am wondering if I should to see if I have that de-syncing issue, as Nintendo appear to have a fix and are replacing them now.

I held my controller behind my back - when it's in the mount - and could still move Link normally. Or is it only an issue when the two Joy cons are completely disconnected and separate?

Only some joycons are affected. Possibly a manufacturing fault, rather than a design one.

I've not been able to get them back off without strawberry floating them up. Means I can't get rid of any dust with the stickers, as the silicon layer gets wrecked when I take it off.

Any tips for getting them off and on without issue?

My Joycons work perfectly when behind my back too. It seems that a batch of left controllers have a flaw and units sent off for repair just have some conductive foam added which completely fixes the issue.

I had a nightmare with my screen protector too. It went off perfectly the first time, or so I thought until I noticed one fiber at the bottom of the screen which from then on was incredibly distracting. Tried to fix with the stickers, but it always ended up with more gooseberry fool getting under the glass. :fp:

Ordered a double pack and finally got it right today. Hope I never have to apply another. :dread:

Why would anyone want to play a game with the joypad held behind their back :?:

They wouldn't, but it's a good test to see if your controller is affected by the manufacturing error.

The first one I had I used that card that's supplied with the Orzly (as it mentions to use in the instructions) and it scuffed the sticky layer. Ever since that I used my nails and had no issue. Every time I took it off and reapplied it seemed to gather more and more dust though.

I ended up applying mine in the bathroom with the shower running (and it still took me two goes). I also saw someone mention having a fan blowing right next to the Switch at Switch level.

My god you guys have never applied a screen protector before..? Yeah sure if you get a bit of fluff or a few specs you're totally going to get way worse the 2nd, 3rd time you try to apply it. For me it's a once time thing, learnt to accept that it's never perfect. Same one on my iPad, camera, phones, 3Ds as the day I bought them (I totally fluffed up my 1st iPad protector because they're freaking huge, but replaced it same day and all good). You won't have a perfect screen, the point is you are safe in the knowledge that you can always easily "replace" your viewing surface without tearing apart your console (which pretty much always goes wrong, I have a grease mark from fungus speck removal on 3DS) / invalidating warranty/ resale value. If you let yourself get sad about a spec/fibre over time you'll have this issue forever.

Trust me with anxiety about loads of pointless gooseberry fool this is the correct reasoning. :datass:

I've always found that running a hot shower and doing it somewhere relatively dust/hair free like bathroom is a good idea. And never put towels or tissue anywhere near that gooseberry fool, 100% cotton shirt sleeve / trim is probably the closest you can get to a brand new lint free cloth or the one that comes with most protectors if you're cheap/lazy, to get it clean and moisture/detergent free.

"It should be common sense to just accept the message Nintendo are sending out through their actions."

A lot of the language and tone used here feels like it could be used in instructions for shaving pubic hair.

My house is now flooded with water. The screen protector fits ok though.

I ended up covering my Switch with soap and rubbing it all over my naked body.

Not because of BAKA's instructions though.

Put it on outside where there's no dust.
