Spot on, Mafro - the game cards cannot store data; game saves are saved to the the system memory. I'm not certain if game updates are also stored in the system memory or if they can be saved onto a micro SD card.

Not online only, you just need multiple Switch consoles (and copies of the game) to play local MP.

Will that be the same for MK?

Nope, a single Switch supports up to 4 player split screen.

I think you are limited to 2 players if you are playing online, you can also link up multiple Switch consoles and I think it supports up to 12 players if you have enough consoles.

In fairness to Splatoon 2 it'd probably play pretty badly in split screen

Turns out the Smyths deal I posted on previous page isn't quite as good as it seems. It's a case of 1 of Zelda, Skylanders or Just Dance plus the Switch for £319.99. Even the store staff agree their promo poster is misleading.

Had a quick demo on Zelda. Have to say that it looks lovely in handheld mode. Bit disappointed when viewing on the I store TV. Made me wonder how it would look on my 4k tv - would it look even worse on a high end display?

Tempted by Lego Undercover too for the kids but sad to see that local 2-player requires 2 pairs of Joycons.

The Mario Kart local multiplayer is definitely of interest. Just trying to decide whether to go for the Zelda only bundle for now at £319.99 or wait to see what the MK8 bundle offer is. Umming and arring at the mo

Same goes for any game that requires two analogue inputs I guess.

If you are still interested in Lego City however Argos have the Switch with Lego City Undercover for £299.99. I think that's the better deal if you want both games.

Zelda is still pretty much a must buy and I've heard bad things about the framerate for LCU in splitscreen, but it does make the game relatively cheap.

Thx. Checked Argos and you're right. Console out it stock at nearest 10 stores and for delivery though.
Wonder if Smyths will price match? May try tomorrow

Why is Puyo Puyo Tetris £40 on this yet £19.99 on PS4?

Nintendo do not set store prices afaik. Get a download code from Amazon for cheaper.

Theres a whiff of supply and demand about that as well. Fewer games on Switch means people are more likely to buy whatever they can, whereas the PS4 is a more mature platform to pricing Puyo Puyo at "premium" level makes it less likely to attract a purchase.

Where did you get those prices from?

The digital Switch price should be £34.99, you can get a physical copy slightly cheaper if you want.

The price difference is apparently down to the cost of producing a cart for Switch. It'll be similar for most multiplatform releases.

I think it'll be the new console syndrome. People must remember that when the Xbox one and ps4 both came out the price of games were higher to start with. This happens all the time, they gradually go down but it takes a bit of time. Same thing happened on the 360 and ps3.

I got this for £27.99 using an Amazon promo combined with Prime £2 pre-order bonus. If you shop around you'll likely find a good deal

+1 to the Switch party :toot:

I have a boxed Switch in front of me with Zelda and Lego Undercover. Plus paid a £2.50 deposit towards Mario Kart 8 too for next Friday's release

Edit: Now setup!
Q: is there a way of browsing eshop without depositing funds first?

Completely unexpected from Konami, I hope they continue to support this with new content (New mulitplayer modes would be nice)

I'll pick this up once the price hits £25
