It won't be.

Remember that this is specifically for if you want voice chat and game audio coming through your headphones, which is most useful for if you are playing portably.

I'm sure Nintendo will advertise the app and voice chat by showing people playing with the switch docked - in which case, you just plug the headset straight into your phone.

I fear that too, OR.

My brain is a bit slow today and I'm misunderstanding this, OR - why does the docking aspect make a difference? If the headset plugged directly into the phone (or, hopefully, a tablet?) then how do you hear the game sound?

For next time, then.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

As rinks said, through the TV

Doesn't work so well with full headphones, but it's the way I always voice chat on PS4 with the bundled single-ear headset. I imagine Nintendo will release something similar.

Oh, man, I don't like the sound of that. I just want to be able to just wear a set of headphones to listen and chat... just like on PS4 or XBO. Who thought that phones / tablets / extra cables would be a good idea? I'm starting to wonder if Nintendo really are trying to up their game with online and social aspects.

My brother and I used to use our phones to talk when the PS3 didn't have party chat. It was ridiculous in 2009, and it's ridiculous now.

That Oceanhorn game that popped up on the store looks gorgeous. Looks a mix of Zelda and Dragon Quest builders. Music by Uematsu too. Very tempted, I'd be curious to read some impressions first though. If anyone here picks it up, I'd love to hear your thoughts.

My impressions here if you're interested. Visually I got the exact same Zelda x Dragon Quest Builders impression.

The music is good, most isn't Uematsu though just so you're aware.

Not sure if the Switch port has any specific issues or gains.

Wasn't Cave Story supposed to be out on Tuesday?

It was in the US. Nicalis can't seem to get their games out in Europe at the same time as the US. Binding of Isaac is out in August so strawberry float knows when Cave Story will be out.

Thanks, that's a big help, particularly how many hours you put into it. I had no idea this was originally an iOS game from 2013, and genuinely never would have guessed. It's so hard to keep track of smaller games these days.

I'm going to be getting my son a switch for his birthday. What controller set up do you guys prefer? Also are there some games where you need another controller to play multilayer? Or do the two joy cons always suffice?

For the folk who have been waiting.... the console (Neon Edition) is in stock at Amazon. Switch things up!

Edit: And at ShopTo!

Out of the box is adequate for 2 player on most games. If three-four player is likely it's probably going to be worth picking up another set of Joycons. There was a set that came with a download code for snipperclips which is a good shout.

I bought a new set on launch and though it's not that cheap it's been a decent investment. Had a few good local multiplayer sessions where they came in very handy.

Seems to be in stock everywhere in the UK...

I really am very tempted, as I love the look of it, but there really is no point for me until Mario Odyssey come out :x

Bought a Switch yesterday. .... Every Nintendo console I try to show restraint but I always give in.

Got it with Zelda, season pass and a 64 gig micro SD card, gonna get a pro controller today.

Don't think I'll need any other games for a while.

Though Arms, Splatoon 2 and Mario Kart are all on my list. Also Mario for Christmas will be immense.

Wish my image sig would work
