Folk looking to buy a Switch console from the Japanese Nintendo Online Store can now choose the colour of the joy-con, and the joy-con straps, that are supplied with it.

I really like that idea. It's not clear whether you have to pay extra for this option, though.

Would have loved that option over here at launch.

The mismatched neon joycons was a putoff for me, but the colours themselves were downright gorgeous so would have gone for them over grey.

Snipperclips really is good confusing fun in multiplayer.

I have the splatoon pro controller and a set of the splatoon joy cons now as well.

My son is obsessed with Zelda at the moment, struggling a bit as he's only just turned 8 but he's doing quite well considering as it's such an involved game.

All you needed to do is buy another pair of Neon Joy-Cons. Granted it was an extra £60, but it also gives you the option of 4 player gaming in a bunch of games.

True, but I couldn't justify another £60 for a set of Joy-Cons when local multiplayer is a very rare occurrence here.

Switch Reddit feels like the Sonic Mania Reddit right now.

Any idea when we can expect a white version of this?

How long did it take before 3DS released in different colours?

Day One.... Cosmo Black ( ) and Not -So-Cool Blue*.

Later in the launch year, a couple of other colours arrived, too.

*Aqua.

Cool, for me Nintendo consoles should be white like the NES, SNES, GameBoy and Wii.

Not fond of the current detail black tablet/grey joycons combo either.

Got a Switch for the older two's Christmas. I've resisted buying games for now so I don't have to play the system when they are away at their mum's. :slol:

Will get Mario Kart 8 and Mario Odyssey for them. (And Zelda for me)

I truly hope that Virtual Console will be released for this, which will include N64/Wii/Wii U games surely?

I'm looking for a second controller but I'm not sure which one to get as it's expensive. I don't like holding one controller in each hand and it's looking like a fortune. (Old fashioned I am.)

It comes with the Joy Con grip to turn it into a normal controller. Go for the Pro controller. Comfiest controller I've ever used and the battery life is brilliant.

Only issue with going for a Pro Controller is that it doesn't give you the option of local 4 Player gaming in a game like MK8, whereas getting a second set of Joy-Cons does.

Of course the optimal option is to get a second set of Joy-Cons and a Pro Controller. But yeah it could cost a fortune.

A cheap option is the hori pro controller, it's officially licensed and got great reviews. Although it is wired but that's not really much of a problem.
