This update sounds like exactly what is needed, I had completely dropped the game after failing the first world on normal about half a dozen times and completely running out of the money the game starts you with.

・If you continue a certain number of times in the Story Mode, you will be able to continue without paying anymore gems.
・Changed the BP (Battle Point) increase/decrease rate for the League Battle.
・Fixed other various small bugs.
HOLY gooseberry fool! They're also adding a Gradius Bomberman, Pyramid Head Bomberman and Simon Belmont Bomberman soon!
I'm so buying this now!

Ha exactly the same for me, pricepoint and all. 60fps (supposedly consistent in battle mode at least) + these has got me in

Picked up Graceful Explosion Machine tonight, nice looking game and a fun little distraction.
Since getting the Switch I just want to play all my games on it, being able to 'switch' between the TV and Handheld is fantastic
