Nintendo Switch Chat thread

Those people who ordered screen protectors, who did you go with? I ordered the Orzly ones and they arrived today as well, messed up installing the first one as the alignment wasn't right and the sticky side got dust on it. The second one I got pretty much perfect but there was a tiny piece of dust underneath, removed to fix that and ended up making it worse

Apparently putting sticky tape on the adhesive side to remove any dust/lint before reapplying works so going to try that when I get in

I've managed to mess up 4 Orzly screen protectors so far. The last one should have gone on perfectly but there's one corner that won't stick down properly.

Yeah I went with Orzly. Happy with the quality (the console fits in the dock so much steadier than before, it feels like this is how it should have always been) it also seems so easy to apply without getting bubbles, and I figured out that tip about the stickers on my second go, sadly a little too late to completely get everything removed. Got it perfectly aligned, just a little tiny bit of dust centre of the screen, and I kinda scuffed the corner of my first go trying to remove it (it's actually easier without the card they say to use), so can't re-try with that. Ordered another set But they do give you a 15% discount code with the package (it's like they knew I was gooseberry fool at it before I'd begun). Annoyingly it's more with the code than my first copy cost. I'm confident I'll nail it second time.

I managed to mess up my first one. I was just about to put the screen down, peeled the back off and then noticed a bit of dust at the bottom of the screen. As I wiped it away with the cloth provided, it caught the adhesive side of the glass and left a load of dust on it. Got the seond one on and have a small spec near the bottom of the screen. There's also a few more specs, one of which is a dark red, around the outside of the screen. Luckily that part is black so it isn't that noticeable and doesn't affect gameplay.

Switch on the train

Any news on when new stock is due for the Switch? Had to cancel my launch preorder as I needed to free up funds for some car repairs but probably be back in a position to buy one come the end of the month.

Smyths toy store has them in stock.

I'm glad I'm not the only one making a hash of applying my screen protectors then! Cleaned the dust off the adhesive side using some sellotape and then managed to get it applied fairly cleanly and evenly. No bubbles but the tiniest specs of dust here and there, can't see any of them when the screen is on though so I can live with them! Beats having a scratch anyway

I tried to remove the specks of dirt/dust that were under the screen by lifting it up at the corner and using the card to pull them out. I've now managed to make it worse and one of the corners no longer sticks down.

Is there a general consensus on screen protectors, like is there a stand out one which people here can vouch for?

Realised last night I've nearly had my pro controller for a week and a half and I still haven't needed to charge it again after the first initial charge.

I didn't even need to last night, but I charged it anyway.

By the sounds of it, the Pro Controller is great.

There's only one thing I want Nintendo to change - the colour. It's one ugly, uninspiring dull looking brick.

Nintendo uses to make such great looking colourful and iconic pads - just use the SNES colours for the Pro, and I'll be happy.

Is Binding of Isaac not out today in the UK? Can't find it on the eShop.

Nope, just the US. Wouldn't expect it here any time soon as Nicalis (the publisher) are absolutely terrible with EU releases, all of their games have had significant delays over here and some haven't been released at all. Took them almost a year after the US release of Cave Story on the Wii to bring it out here, the DSi version didn't come out, the 3DS version TWO YEARS LATER(!) and VVVVVV took ages to come out too.

If you really want it then I'd just suggest importing a physical copy.
