I've just found the "Earn Nintendo Points" option that comes up if you highlight options of a game on the home screen, and all you need is the game card to be inserted at the time.

I can just rent every switch game I have no intention of buying from Boomerang and get the points anyway :slol:

There's strawberry float all worth spending the points on though!

Anyone getting a really bad wifi signal with their switch?

I need to be in the same room to get anything above one bar. At one bar, it's basically not functional. Videos on the e shop won't load and downloads are ridiculously slow.

All my other devices are fine and can connect from anywhere in the house.

It seems to be a recurring issue for a lot of people, but isn't being properly acknowledged by Nintendo.

You don't get as many point as you do for the Digital version, which I guess is how they get round that.

Nothing up for Switch yet anyway, it does say 'Coming Soon' though I wouldn't hold my breath for it.

One thing you can get is discounts on some 3DS/Wii U digital titles, so would be nice for some Switch eShop discounts as well.

Just seen an advert for Mario Kart.

Odd.

It occurred to me that playing multiplayer in portable mode is going to be bloody impossible.

Mine is bad, even worse when the system is docked, we got the Splatoon global test fire next weekend and I'm wondering if iit will actually go well because of this.

it concerns me that it's not something that patches can fix.

Can you not return it and see if a replacement is better? You'll then know if it is a general Switch issue or just a fault you were unlucky with. I doubt an issue with wifi connectivity can be patched if it is a hardware problem.

Yes?

I'm gonna get one of my mates to bring theirs round and compare. I don't want to return it and swap, I've played Zelda for 50 hours. Don't want to lose that progress!

What kind of device are you connecting to? If you have the option (if you have a Dual band access point) try connecting to the 5Ghz band and see if that makes a difference.

It's interesting because I remember there were issues reported with the Pixel C tablet which also uses the Tegra X1 SoC (not sure if WiFi is built in or would be the same on Switch). I have noticed that the connection seems a little less stable than some other devices, but on the 5Ghz band it works well enough.

I've got a netgear router plugged into a Virgin Media Superhub (in modem mode). I might try just using the Superhub again to see if the 5ghz is any use.

That has helped improve the switch connection. Put the Superhub back on and activated 5ghz. Hopefully I don't encounter any of the old bullshit that encouraged me to go to a standalone router and modem mode.

Does it count as a "tease" if it shows you actually playing it on the console? That's not a "tease", that's "this thing definitely exists and is real".

Nintendo UK confirms Fire Emblem Warriors and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 for 2017

If those aren’t enough, in autumn you can look forward to Fire Emblem Warriors. Fans of huge RPGs should anticipate the arrival of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 this year as well!

Siliconera: Game Freak Recruiting For ''Globally popular RPG'' Console Project

Game Freak is recruiting for a new console development project and they’re in need of 3D CG designers with experience on Wii U and PS Vita level character models using animation and modeling software Maya.

In the staff recruitment ad, Game Freak is looking for someone that can consult with the programmers and work on assisting with data. It starts out with “Here’s a chance to work on the development of a globally popular RPG!” The work requires using material to create cartoon-like super deformed characters, monsters, and item models.

Will be really surprised if Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is out anywhere outside of Japan this year. Fair enough they've shown off as much of that as they have Mario Odyssey, but that game won't have tons of dialogue needing localised.

lol Game Freak aiming high as usual.
