Why on earth wouldn't you be interested in the best game of the past decade?

Its the Zelda game for people that don't like Zelda games (and also those that do like Zelda games).

Not interested in Zelda and 1-2 Switch doesnt have much life to it. Also contsantly having to change the controller configuration in 1-2 is super dumb.

Why did you buy it then? :?

Thought the same thing.

Open world fatigue.

I don't know why you'd buy a switch if Zelda doesn't interest you. Not really anything on it you can't get on PC or other consoles, bar Blaster Master Zero.

Even if that was a thing (which I don't think it is), it doesn't apply to this game.

Someone might think it applies if they hadn't played it, but it really doesn't.

Zelda just looks really dull to me. Spend ages going all around doing bullshit. Seems a bit tedious.

Doesnt it have a bunch of framerate issues in TV mode too?

Spend however long you want to really, you might see the fact people have played it for ages as perhaps a positive thing. People don't play gooseberry fool games 'for ages', they stop playing them.

Of course though, 'a bunch of framerate issues' is the most important thing. That's definitely what you should focus on.

Of course it's a thing people get tired of things if they do them things a lot. It's not rocket science.

Yo Falsey, at the moment there's just Zelda and a couple of decent eShop games -- Fast RMX is a decent F-Zero clone, I Am Setsuna is a decent JRPG, and there's some indie stuff but you'd probably have played those by now if you were interested (like e.g. Shovel Knight). That's gonna be the state of play 'til the end of this month, when Mario Kart comes out (alongside Puyo Puyo Tetris, which I think a few of us will probably be playing multiplayer). Then, May is going to have Ultra Street Fighter II and Disgaea 5. The actual date isn't announced yet, but later on in summer there will be Splatoon 2, RiME, and Arms. There's also gonna be a dump of Dragon Quest games at some point, which I suspect will come in autumn. Winter will hopefully have Mario Odyssey and Xenoblade, but that's pretty much speculation. Throughout all of this there's a pretty regular stream of indie releases too - they're really emphasising indie games at the moment - but IMO not much you wouldn't have played on Steam already if you wanted to.

If you don't like staple Nintendo franchises and/or Japanese stuff, and if the idea of playing indie games on the go isn't too exciting for you, then the Switch is going to have a really boring first year for you to be honest.

This isn't me being down on it, I like the console a lot because I like Nintendo & other Japanese games - and while I don't tend to get on with indie games, I'm more likely to give them a go on a handheld - but I'm just trying to give a realistic view of it.

I'm full on in love with it, but I agree with Karl on almost all these points (I don't see Mario being delayed, Xenoblade though....). There's not much other than Zelda at the moment. I'm enjoying some indie stuff I hadn't played before, but if you're not interested in Zelda and unless you're going to get Mario Kart in a few weeks, then you've probably jumped in a bit early.

You've got 1, 2 Switch, Bomberman and I think that's it in terms of fun local multiplayer games at least until MK8. Though both of them are overpriced for what they are sadly. If you can pick them up cheap then they're probably worth a shot. It's very much been a soft launch while they build a base of titles before they go full on at Christmas.

FWIW I think Denster mentioned recently that his daughter likes Zelda, so it might be worth giving her the chance to try it out.

Shes only 7 and she struggles with most of these complex overlapping systems that you see in adventure games these days. She isnt a big gamer, she just likes the drop in drop out easy fun things.

I kind of expected a full barage of mario party and wario ware and stuff with how they sold the controllers.

Try 1-2 Switch, it's a mini game collection.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:
