I suspect that, whatever they're working on, it started out as a Wii U title and they've since transferred it over to Switch. I hope it is something special... it feels like it should be, but I'm kind of intrigued as to why they are one of the most silent developers ever. Even more than the old Ultimate Play The Game / Rare  .

They probably made a Metroid with cool GamePad features and have to rebuild the whole thing around not having those things.

So now they are making a Fire Emblem game.

Does anyone else get weak wifi signal with the switch? most of the time I get two bars even when sat right next to the router next to my computer. Sometimes it goes to three in handheld mode. But if I compare this to my iphone which is always 3 bars and gets high download speed rates too! tested connection with switch and I get 33mbps with iphone I get 64mbps on wifi

Try holding the power button on the switch until it's fully off (takes about 10 seconds) then turn it back on.

That helped me.

Good shout, Qikz - that approach helped resolve my wifi connection issue, too. However, at the risk of being a pedant, I believe the process is to hold down the power button for a few seconds until the menu appears, then select power and then off. Let's hope it works for zXe :toot: .

:toot: It worked

Edit - No it didn't. Still only got two bars again. Had three in handheld but not docked.

The only thing "Best friends" does at the moment is put the person to the top of your friends list.

Yeah, nothing else appears to happen! Surely Nintendo are gonna allow friends messaging on the Switch at some point? Last evening I arranged a Kart game with a few pals using my Wii U, played it on Switch and then had to go back to the Wii U to talk to them again :fp:  .

It's a bit of a joke but hopefully they will do an update soon.

I kept seeing people on Mario Kart and I was getting errors when trying to join but had no way to organise a game without either messaging or putting a message on the forum and hoping someone would reply. :(

It's a basic feature and the only thing that has me frustrated about the switch.

Still love my switch even if I'm only playing a game I could get on my wii u and mario kart that I have owned since it was released on wii u ;)

We're usually on Discord when we're playing online so you can join us there on your phone or PC, even if you just use text messages instead of voice chat. I try to pay attention to the thread as well but Discord is more immediate.

I actually set up my dock yesterday and plugged the switch into it to play some zelda on the monitor i have. The game still looks awesome and i also first time used the joycon grip which felt pretty good although the triggers feel a little weird in the grip but i can live with it. I Can't believe i've only been using it portably though for the last couple of months but i didn't really need to plug it in to the TV and my wife doesn't really care for gaming . Also heading over to my friends house tonight to show off the switch and play some multiplayer games, it's brilliant what a tiny amount i need to pack to do this. I have mario kart, metal slug 3,blazing star and demo's of puyo puyo tetris and snipperclips to play.

The first couple of weeks I was playing in dock mode but now I'm portable only, not for not wanting to play on the TV but because it's incredibly convenient having the dock set up on my bedside table for playing in bed. I want (need) to buy another dock so I can play on the TV but still have the switch on hand by my bed without having to move docks around.

OR, you probably already know this... but couldn't you connect the dock to your TV and just use a Switch power adapter for your bedside table? That's what I'm gonna do :toot: .

And have the switch not live in a dock? Madness!

...but it actually would be not so good, dock is great at keeping it out the way and not having cables trailing. If I just had a charger plugged in I wouldn't be able to hide the cable away and the switch would be laid flat taking up much room.

I just hope the docks become available soon and aren't overpriced to hell (game has a preorder up at £99 which is genuine madness for a plastic shell and charging cable).

whenever i charged mine i just left it in my switch case , it never got warm at all and was protected. If you just want something for it to sit in i'm sure you can find a little stand or something which the cable can loop through so it's neatly out of the way . I think hori have a stand like that.

Dock related question, has anyone tried "docking" their phone or tablet in there and seeing if it will appear on the tv or if it does some authentication with the switch?

Ive looked around for it and Ive seen people charging stuff through the usb ports but noone has docked anything else into the dock from what Ive seen. Anyone tried this or come across it?

...or, in line with degoose's suggestion, a stand that also allows for charging. Team it up with a power charger and, at £35, that's quite a saving over buying a docking station.

Well we don't know how much a docking station will be yet

They're $89.99 in the US so it will probably be £70 minimum over here. It will probably be closer to the £90 mark.

The charger is £25 alone and the dock is essentially a piece of plastic with some pass throughs, £90 would be genuinely baffling
