*Really*? So.... "Power off" isn't actually power off? I'm gonna try this out in a while!

If it works it will certainly be cheaper than what I was going to suggest... buying another Switch!

Power off puts it in sleep. To reboot it properly you have to hold the power button.

Am I doing something daft here? :shifty: .

Okay... I'm holding in the power button... a menu appears and I'm still holding the button... the menu disappears and I release the button.

When I power it on again, I get the black/white logo screen... not the initial red/white-with-sound one.

'Turn off' from the Power options menu and holding the button down for longer seem to do the exact same thing. There's definitely no difference in the boot up.

That's what I thought, OSC. I believe the red/white and sound startup only occurs the first time you turn on the console.

Thinking about making a US account for the cheaper downloads, assuming I can still use my UK account on the same Switch and play games bought from either region? Any restrictions I should know about?

It's easy to create them. You just go to accounts.nintendo.com, create a new account and set your country as either Japan or US. Only thing you need is a valid email address (different from the ones you used on other accounts).

Once you've done that, create a new profile on the switch and then link the Nintendo account you have just created. Takes about ten mins.

I've yet to buy anything from other regions so not sure if that causes issues, anyone know?

I bought Puyo Puyo Tetris with my US account and have had no issues playing it on my UK profile :)

Funnily enough, I did read on NeoGAF that you can actually change locations on one account to access different region eshops, provided you have no funds in your account.

Cheers, sounds like it will be easy enough to do. :toot:

Hopefully some good news regarding VC transfers coming up at E3, then I'll be very tempted to pick one up.

i never thought about it until seeing that photo but i guess the switch is ideal for footballers who travel a lot and the fact that you can link up so many machines for multiplayer is a good thing to have. All they need now is EA to actually make FIFA decent on it with good online and the switch could get an even bigger boost to sales. A good portable FIFA is all that's needed and i bet people would double dip on purchases with xbox/ps4 and a switch version. I certainly will if it's good enough.

I've preordered USF2:TFC and I thinking about cancelling it. I just can't see me playing it or even enjoying it. Nothing really new from the SNES days and I've read worrying things about HD sprites and hitboxes. Anyone else on the fence with this one?
