Held off Yooka to get it on the Switch, had a quick go of a Yarrr'd version on the PC and I liked what I played. Will be perfect on the Switch.

My Switch library is Zelda (done and dusted and a little burned out by it, hopefully enthusiasm returns in time for Zelda DLC), Just Dance (played once), Thumper (great) and Sonic Mania (great).

I also bought Shantae in a fit of craving for a simple, fun 2D-platformer. It looks nice and the Saturday morning cartoon voices and vibe is cute, but the gameplay is super bland.

Thumper is one of the games I want a PSVR for, but its looking increasingly like I might not get one for a good while, if at all. Worth getting on Switch over PS4?

My current Switch library as we're on the subject:

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
Super Bomberman R
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
Lego City Undercover
Puyo Puyo Tetris
Splatoon 2
Fate/Extella: The Umbral Star
Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle

Snipperclips
Blaster Master Zero
Fast RMX
Snake Pass
Kamiko
Namco Museum
Inifinite Minigolf

(bolded are physical)

Is there a digital release as well?

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

I guess so. The US got a digital and physical release.

My library so far would be..

Physical

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
The Legend Of Zelda Breath Of The Wild
Splatoon 2
Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle

Download

Sonic Mania

Not doing too badly seeing as I've owned it since July. More than happy with my decision to get one earlier than Mario's release.

Will probably pick up around Christmas, but planning on getting...

Mario Odyssey
Zelda BOTW
Mario Kart 8
Metroid Prime 4
Pokémon
No More Heroes 3

...along wth a shed load of N64, Gamecube and Wii titles when Virtual Console launches.

Speaking of Virtual Console, should the joycons be able to replicate wiimotes?

When it comes to buying Sonic try switching your location to Russia and see what the price is. Was 699RUB when I bought it which was £9 (+ £1 currency conversion with my bank) so was near £7 cheaper that way. And it really is just a case of switching your location via your Nintendo account, no need for setting up a new one.

I looked at doing that and got a message that switching regions would de-link something or other, so I didn't do it.

They don't have IR pointing, and I don't know how emulatable that would be with gyro. Wiimote+ games seemed to use gyro over IR anyway (see Skyward Sword) so they seem like they should work.

The button layout is quite different too - although the joycon does have enough buttons to match a wiimote, I'm not sure you can map them nicely.

Nunchuk would be easy

Jesus the 3DS XL SNES edition looks lush, but I just can't justify it with having the Switch and a standard 3DS already, and a SNES mini on preorder! It looks so lovely.

But no, I must not be tempted. Bloody Nintendo releasing decent games on the 3DS this year.

It's probably been asked a bunch of times before in the thread, but I can't be dealing with trawling back through pages - what accessories has everyone bought for their Switch?

I'm looking at getting a carry case as I'm currently just lumping it in my bag and it's probably gonna get knackered doing that. Similarly the screen is still naked so I've been trying to work out which screen protector to go for - the reviews for most on Amazon seem good but you always seem to get a few people moaning that they don't fit properly or have loads of air bubbles etc.

Any recommendations?

Just the hori hard case:

(The flap has space for holding some games)

Planning on getting an extra pair of joycons at some point, but not in any rush. I play handheld exclusively and take the switch with my on my commute every day. The case does fine and I've no need of a screen protector even with me taking the switch in and out of the dock multiple times a day.

I think it did but once purchased it can be downloaded as normal when you switch back to UK and relink your Nintendo account (I think thats to do with 3DS/Wii U not so much the Switch)

I use this tempered glass protector. You get 2 and so easy to put on without air bubbles appearing. I use the official carry case with mine along with rubber grips that sit on the joycons while in handheld mode making it more comfortable to hold and fits in the case no problem with them on.

I've got Splatoon 2 as a download and Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and ARMS as physical copies. I got myself a Splatoon 2 case as well for handheld mode. I'm loving the console so far though, I've had it for just over 6 weeks and I think its brilliant.
