A shame. I hope Mania outsells it.

Dang, that’s a shame. Sounds like I dodged a bullet with this one.

We had some great multiplayer on the Tetris puyo puyo demo tonight, the wife loved playing it, so we went to the eshop to see how much it would be...

Ah! I noticed that yesterday... it sounds cool to get a free gift but, yeah, it does muck up the delivery. Many folk will probably have to wait until next week to go and be collect it from their delivery office!

I cancelled my order for this game but I’d be really keen to hear what you reckon of it, Rog.

So far it's your regular 3d Sonic. I'm interested in the story because it echoes the later cartoons from my childhood but it is doing a poor job so far. All the important stuff has been done by plain text on the screen. A montage of the Robotnik takeover wouldn't have been hard. 30 fps lock on switch ruins it and the homing attack is temperamental.

Great that you got Sonic early. How long did it take you to complete and is there any post game content worth doing?

Switch did indeed arrived yesterday and unlike many I didn't go "Go to GRcade" moment and instead opted for setting it up and play Mario Odyssey. :eyes:

I'm loving Mario Odyssey. It's actual sequel to SM64 for me and honestly loving every second of it, I can see myself getting everything in this game and maybe do new game.... As I'm not gonna buy any more games until my bank isn't crying at me. :shifty:

I also linked my Nintendo ID and can use miitomo if you want to add me.

About 4 hours and you can replay the missions with different avatars to get the in game achievements which reward avatar gear but honestly the avatar stuff isn't given any real meaning. I went through the game without changing anything about mine.
Anything that isn't 3d sonic feels tacked on. The 2d mania sonic feels crowbarred in there. His levels are paint by numbers, no originality just there to tick a box. The whole game suffers from feeling heartless. It's like they tried to make it as inoffensive to the hardcore sonic fans as possible, which I would say they managed, but it doesn't achieve anything else.

I got it from the US eshop on release as it was $30 there, not sure how that translates to £35 here...

Apparently it's been on sale for £27.99

I don't care how good it is, £35 is stupid money for a download of a puzzle game.

Hey team, how do you buy gift cards / vouchers for the Switch (to give as presents)?

I've seen eShop gift cards available online but the text that accompanies the product suggests they are redeemable on Wii U and 3DS but not Switch...

You can buy Switch eShop cards from GAME and (some) supermarkets, Dan. You can also get voucher codes from CDkeys at a slight discount; save £1.01 on a £25.00 voucher :) .

Thanks jawa! Are they marked as switch gift cards, do you know?

Long shot, but is there any information I may have missed about any chance of Virtual Console coming back for switch? I'm guessing no, but figured I'd ask.

Just had a quick look and, oddly, GAME doesn’t seem to sell Switch eShop vouchers online - they only have the older Wii / DS / 3DS version, and only one of them. Even odder, CD Keys is now listing it’s eShop cards as only being for the older systems, too - and at not much of a discount, either. Even (more) odder, Amazon isn’t selling them now!

Seems strange.... I wonder if Nintendo has stopped selling the vouchers?

Some titles are available, Seven - there are plenty of Neo Geo titles in the eShop. However, a “proper” Virtual Console is still absent and there has yet to be any clear indication as to when it may arrive. The Nintendo Online subscription (i.e. like MS Gold or Sony PS Plus) is due to launch in “2018” and that will include some NES titles for people who pay the sub.

We're loving that demo too, won't buy the full game until it's a tenner though.

What? Why?

There's so much content, it's well worth full price.

The demo is great but it does feel a little overpriced for a puzzle game. No matter how polished it is, I've played more than enough Tetris and Mean Bean Machine over the years anyway.

Very excited to get both Doom and Skyrim this month. Shamefully, the Switch is my only console currently, so this will be my first time experiencing both games.

More than happy to support Bethseda. Hope the games get good sales and the support continues.

Not sure of whether to save one or both for Christmas. Only have the Bank Holidays off this year, so I doubt I would hardly make a scratch on Skyrim alone if I were to save it for Christmas day.
