Don't smash my hopes & dreams :(

Well it’s Bandai Namco Singapore if that helps....

Interesting, especially that it involves folks that worked on the cancelled Star Wars 1313 game. That seemed like a strictly linear affair so hopefully they can handle the non-linearity of Metroid

Hopefully they wont put a shitty pointless fetch quest near the end.

Japan's fascination with keychains or "charms" continues with the "Pocket Mini Case" Switch line from Max Limited. These cases are 1/3 scale of a Switch physical case. The lineup includes The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, ARMS, Splatoon 2, and Super Mario Odyssey. Want to know the best part about them? These tiny cases are actually big enough to store a single Switch game card! The entire line launches in Japan this April.

D'aww, those are great. I forgot how lovely the Japanese logo for Breath of the Wild is, the font is so darn Ghibli

That's a great way to lose games, those chains are excellent at opening by themselves.

I've got a few charms from Japan, my favourite is an official miniature N64 controller, which is really accurate, sadly the the control stick broke off. You press the start button and a red LED turns on for some reason. Sadly I wasn't able to find a GameCube one.

Not bothered about Namco working on prime 4. The same Nintendo producer for metroid as samus returns and the prime games will probably be working extremely closely on it and Nintendo just don't have the massive resources needed for so much rich, varied areas and enemies (BotW reused a lot of a different stuff and landscapes are generally easier than levels/dungeons). The game will contain tonnes of assets and texture work in HD. It's not going to be cel shaded.

Namco Singapore is more of an international studio than it sounds, its not Namco proper. I'm sure they'll be hiring more than just Japanese devs.

A lot of key staff including concept/environment artists left Retro ages ago I think particularly because they were done with the franchise.

As long as the game is great, I don't care so makes it.

As long as its not EA...

Suit upgrades would be tagged on as micro transactions if EA made it.

Or loot boxes so upgrades would be randomised.

What I love about Namco making Metroid, is that it frees up Nintendo's teams for other (better!) franchises.

Apart from Super Metroid, I always thought Metroid was over-hyped by a small but vocal set of American gamers.

I don't think the recent 3DS Metroid II remake was that successful. The general public doesn't seem to really care, or know about it.

Now Nintendo - focus on the franchises which really deserve sequels - Pilotwings, Wave Race, F-Zero and a 2D Mario game, and I'll be happy.

Super metriod is a bit overrated imo and has some really annoying quirks, but it's still a great game. Metriod Prime and home lesser extent it's sequel, is up there with the greatest games of all time. I hadn't played it at all up until a few years ago and I was blown away by how good it was.

All this is worthy of an IP ban

It would be nice if they bring the first three (Metroid Prime) on Switch though.

Yeah, I would like that, BOR. It'd be cool to play the Prime's in portable mode.

It has to happen. I have faith that the Virtual Console will be great when it eventually arrives.
