Sega are going to launch their own Virtual Console service on Switch before Nintendo launch theirs.

I'll buy Sonic the Hedgehog again and play through it once. Because I'm an idiot.

I love the idea of Sega classcs arriving on Switch! I kinda wish they were being included under a broader "Virtual Console" branding as per retro games on the Wii, though. It looks like publishers are gonna do their own thing which feels just a little unwieldy compared to what we had a few years ago; I liked the "unified branding" approach.

I think Nintendo are holding the Virtual Console back for the launch of paid online subscription. It’s the only thing that makes sense to me on why they haven’t implemented it already.

As a well seasoned cynic my own theory is that they are holding back on it until they can find a way to justify charging full price for the games again. No Wii to Wii-U style reduced upgrade fee.

Is neat as it's confirmed M2 are handling them, who have an excellent history Sega rereleases. Most notably the 3D Classics on 3DS, honestly I suspect this may be a continuation of that line in a way.

With that said...I bet that's not the Christian Whitehead mobile port of Sonic 1, which is the only iteration they should be re-releasing these days :/

EDIT: Yep

If only there were a hypothetical 16:9 version with bug fixes + additional characters + improved performance + time attack + smoother special stages they could keep re-releasing instead...

I've put about 10 hours into Football Manager Switch already :slol:

It's so sunny and bright outside but I'm doing a good job in my first season trying to keep Wimbledon up, whilst the real boys just locked up a massive win. Feels good manc

Impressions are good, sometimes the UI can be a bit sluggish, the controls do take some getting used to but when you do it really does feel like a football manager game.

Just need to find my best formation now

Reasonably intuitive - if a little overwhelming... Gameplay wise, I don't know how to turn around bad form. The injury RNG in particular seems very cruel.

But does anyone play at 11:49!

I suppose if Photek can have his favourite number (5, because 5 millions PUBG players) then Fisherprice is fine have 11:49 as his. Bet you he has 11:49 tattoo'd across his chest :datass:

I'm probably one of the few people who actually preferred VC2 to one.
