Nintendo Switch Chat Thread - Eight It Time For Somethin' New?

It’s going to be a really quiet year for the Switch unless we get some new games/ports announced in the middle of the year, there’s a few logical things they could announce, but this is Nintendo so nothing will probably come that we expect.

In terms of new games, I could see a new Mario Party and Mario sports game (sluggers?) getting announced for the second half. Probably something Kirby related too. Other than that, I think Metroid Prime 4 is the only possibility for a big release. I know a lot of people expect a Switch 2 dual release now but I still think that has chance.

Outside of that, yeah ports and remasters-probably Prime 2 and 3 HD and the forever rumoured Zelda Wii U remasters.

Wouldn’t be the worst end to the Switch if we got a few of those, the more time goes by with nothing announced for the second half of 2024, the more I see MP4 coming out and then them showing off the upgraded version at Switch 2 release.

There is a rumoured April Direct. I don't know if that will happen but if it does I would expect them to fully reveal the second half of the year lineup.

They must have something. Even after the Switch had come out they carried on supporting the 3DS. So even if their Switch 2 plans have been delayed, I would still have expected them to be planning Switch releases for the same time.

A remake of the Snes Super Metroid or Zelda Minish Cap would be very nice. Played and very much enjoyed both for the first time in recent years. Both ok as they are but nicer if they were looking, controlling and quality of life(ing) like Dread and Link Awakening Switch respectively.

Real long shot and they won't do this but Starfox 64 remake would be very nice. Nintendos remake era is exciting to me.Subsequent games were kind of a remake of 64 anyway. Apparently, I've heard they won't bring out a new Starfox because they can't think of anything new to do with it but just remake 64 and actually advertise it as a remake. One can dream.

i played vampire survivors today and farm coins.

After a long break I played Vampire Survivors again today. I am on level 62 in the third stage so have quite a way to go.

i finish main stages,dlc stages and unlock all 70 characters and a character level 642 to farm coins to buy characters for the achievements and achievements nearly finish.

They’ll have stuff for this year, could see a Fire Emblem remake in the summer along some remasters that they’ll likely have been saving for a ‘in case things get delayed break glass’ situation.

Few great looking indie titles also on the way this year, definitely won’t be an awful year like we got on Wii U but don’t go expecting one of Switch era’s best.
