Having a quick google, that looks like a really nice alternative to the Joycons, one I’d probably be tempted by if I didn’t have a controller for docked play (while it looks neat in handheld, it looks rather cumbersome, although whether it feels that way or not I don’t know!). Take it (with the claimed 0.3mm travel on them) the triggers are digital rather than analogue ones?

With the little play on Wreckfest with them so far, it's not as cumbersome as you'd imagine. And yeah, digital triggers.

Fitting that the GC controllers made for playing portable Smash would make the console too big

Shame they didn’t use similar analogue triggers the original GC controller had but guess that’d have made it really bulky. Good to know it’s not as cumbersome as it looks though.

Cool cheers, I think I am going to join you in getting one :toot: as long as it’s comfortable for handheld play that’s perfect for me.

Anyone who has one, don't forget the N64 Pro controller has a brilliant dpad on it. It's my go to controller for anything like tetris or a platformer as its very precise.

Quick question re. the game vouchers. I want to buy two vouchers and use them to get Advance Wars and Tears... Am I right in thinking I have to have an active NSO membership, but a free trial isn't enough? But I can buy a one-month membership now for £3.49, then buy the vouchers and immediately redeem them to pre-order the two games – it won't matter that the membership will be inactive by the time the games release?

I loved Fusion back in the day.

What do I need to play this? Can I just buy a short nintendo switch online sub, or do I need something else on top of that?

You need the expansion pack on top of the online sub to get the GBA games

Not overly sure on your question as I don’t use the vouchers but would you not use NSO? For the SNES games or online?

Only reason I ask is you can get a year sub for £13-odd from CD Keys. If not and you are concerned about your NSO lapsing before Tears comes out you can also get a 3 month sub from CDKeys for just over a fiver.

Nah, I won't use it for online at all. If I have a short sub, I will have a try of the SNES stuff, but if I go down that road it would be more the GBA and MD games that would interest me, and then I'm looking at a whole year with the expansion sub.

The CD Keys subs do look like a bargain, so I might go for those, thanks. I just wanted to establish if buying the one-month sub was both necessary and also sufficient, as the cheapest way of making use of the vouchers.

Free? Sir, this is a Wendy's Nintendo.

The Expansion Pack is an additional cost on top of the NSO. I wasn't aware of this but it looks to me like you can only get the Expansion Pack on a 12 month deal (yay Nintendo):

https://www.nintendo.co.uk/Nintendo-Swi ... 74627.html

So it'll be £35 for NSO + Expansion Pack for 12 months. Once you've got that, access to the GBA lineup is included.

Nintendo: Yes you are free to purchase it. Thank you.
