Did anyone ever play that BotW looking game called Windbound? Noticed its on offer at 90% off (so now £1.59) and wondered if anyone had played it? It did look interesting when it came out.

Played it briefly on Gamepass… it was okay. But I didn’t stick at it for long. But the current price does seriously tempt me for the Switch version.

It’s a very nice looking version of the OLED, definitely the one I’d opt for if I need to, I’m really hoping the Switch 2 gets announced before the fan noise really gets to me though Still doesn’t seem that bad at the moment, but I don’t know if it actually has made it worse, but since XC3 and Pokémon SV its on a lot more?

My one must be getting worse. Last Mario kart wave I made it through nearly 4 Grand Prixs. This time just under 2. I was planning to wait for the switch 2 as well but I just gave in

Before the noise got unbearable? Or was it actually shutting down of its own accord? To be honest, mine is nowhere near the stage where it’s unbearable at the moment, playing Metroid and it’s not really that loud at all. XC3 and SV did hammer it though, could hear the fan a heck of a lot

When is your OLED arriving?

it overheats in the dock unless its something simple like youtube or GB games. it doesn't overheat in hand held but the controllers keep disconnecting. so the only long term way to play is undocked with the controllers detached which irritates me. XC3 was when it all began as well. i think my attempts to clean the fans may have made things worse.

the oled is estimated to arrive on monday.

You need the expansion pack on top of the online sub to get the GBA games

The Expansion Pack is an additional cost on top of the NSO. I wasn't aware of this but it looks to me like you can only get the Expansion Pack on a 12 month deal (yay Nintendo):

So it'll be £35 for NSO + Expansion Pack for 12 months. Once you've got that, access to the GBA lineup is included.

As an FYI, if you can get people to share a plan with, it gets a lot cheaper.

I'm on a plan with 7 other people and it hardly costs anything a year.

Yeah I've got the family membership plus expansion pass, anyone else who tries to access things got through the membership (like Tetris 99 for example) just gets a "This user cannot play this software" message

How odd, it all should work fine. I have it all set up, including transferring a child account from another admin so I've been through the setup in a fair amount of detail.

Did you send all the email invitations and did everyone accept ok? Can they do normal online gaming on their own accounts?

Have you checked the setup online - look at:

Also when they go to the switch online icon on their console, under their account, it should show them they are a member and how long for, etc. If that's not showing then they're likely not properly registered on the family account.

It's a lot more of a survival game than it is a BOTW-like, despite the obvious inspiration in parts. £1.59 isn't asking much though! I definitely got more than that out of it.

I’m probably less interested now I’ve re-read your thoughts on it, even for just £1.59! When I tried survival mode on Skyrim (probably not that comparable) I think I had it on for about 2 minutes before deciding it definitely wasn’t for me
