I think 2 is the better game in probably every measure (especially for me the humour, they have found their voice a lot better imo), but the first game is still great and worth playing. My suggestion would be to play the first (which is cheaper), then providing you liked it wait a while before then getting the second (at a discounted price for owning the original).
Nothing stopping you jumping straight in at 2 though
