I didn't play much of Odyssey. I love it, but I just have no desire to get back to it right now.

I will, but I want to finish For the Frog the Bell Tolls, I was thinking of also playing Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door again on Stream and when I do finish Froggy McFrogFace I was going to start Super Mario Land 2, but the rom hacked version Jazzem sorted me out with. It's basically a DX version akin to Link's Awakening, and you get to play as the best Mario... Luigi!

Could not give a strawberry float about audio compression. Resetera are bitches.

Nintendo really need to get a Super Mario Galaxy Collection out on this machine. it wasn't possible on the Wii U, but I don't see why it wouldn't be possible here (one of the joy cons has an IR pointer thing, if I'm correct in thinking).

HD Remaster with updated Switch controls please.

It makes literally no sense for them NOT to do it. It would fill the gap nicely between iterations of Odyssey.

Also, and I'm fed up asking for this now, but will Nintendo hurry up and do a new 1080, FFS? It was one of my favourite Cube games.

Yeah, get NST on it. They did a great job with Avalanche.

Whilst they're at it they could get AV to do another F-Zero.

I would love a Galaxy HD 1 & 2 collection but I think we'll get Odyssey 2 in 2020 (hence no DLC for Odyssey 1) and they'll be focusing on that.

I think the cancelled Wii game Project Hammer killed NST, with a lot of cuts and redundancies being made in the aftermath. I think they're more of a support studio now, I'm not sure they have the resources to make a full blown Switch title. Which is a shame, because Nintendo could do with more western studios, especially with Retro going AWOL.

Give them to Retro Studios. They haven't developed a new game in 4 years.

That's the game Link's Awakening was based on right? And that the character Richard is from.

I really need to play it now there is a translation. How are you finding it?

I'm wondering if Retro Studios actually exists any more. Heading towards five years - probably more, since they were a large developer and so probably didn't have their whole staff working on Trop Freeze right up until release - of *absolutely nothing*... it's quite incredible. Presumably they were working on something for the Wii U which got canned; perhaps they've been porting / re-starting the idea for Switch... but hearing nothing at all from them is odd.

This. Weirdo banana splits that will complain about anything.

Got it preordered along with the Solaire amiibo :toot:

The general consensus on the rumour front seems to be their first project post Tropical Freeze had development issues and got cancelled, and they've been working on Starfox Grand Prix the past 2 years.

Dang, man... I want to get Solaire but pre-orders sold out in minutes :-(. Seems ridiculous that more stock hasn't (so far) been made available.

Totes forgot about the rumoured Starfox GP. I'm not sure on my feelings about that... but, hey, Retro have done okay in the past so I guess it could be cool.

Jawa... every single game Retro has developed has been at worst, "good" with the original Prime being one of the best games ever.

Metroid Prime 1-3
MK7
DKC Returns + Tropical Freeze

True, Drum. It just feels odd that any studio could bump along for five years without showing anything. Presumably they'll need whatever it is that they're developing to be a huge sales hit.

I don't know if Link's Awakening is based on it, I know the engine is the same.

Yeah, I like it, it's different to Zelda in that the combat is very different. You walk in to an enemy and a dust cloud pops up and you exchange blows automatically. It is a little odd to start, but you get used to it, and I personally like that, it's very different for me.

Then there's the overworld which is very Zelda. Then you have the main palace. You go there a few times. Or at least I have. Is more like the side scrolling section of Links awakening. It's very fun. I would try and go in more detail. But I suck at detail.

Yeah engine being the same is what I meant. Sounds good, I definitely need to check it out!

That dust-ball fighting sounds almost identical to Freshly Picked Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland. I wonder if that was an actual inspiration.

I hope Star Fox Grand Prix is bollocks. There's already F-Zero. Also Star Fox needs a proper game, not some shitty spin off. Plus. A racing game from q studio with the talent to do more is a waste.

I don't mean churning out a racing game is possible easy btw. It's just Retro seem to be able to do great things, as they did with Prime and Donkey Kong Country, I just see a racing game as something they could innovate with.
