I'd still object to their use of the term HD with these NES games :slol:

Sort of wish I'd played more Splatoon now, because I'm definitely not investing in online from day one.

The NES Online games will have a feature where your friends can move a hand image to "help" you by pointing at useful stuff during the game. Dat asynchronous play :datass: .

This is the most pointless feature yet

Almost half of those initial twenty - and apologies in advance for any offence caused - barely count as videogames anymore. They'd be considered minigames. Hell, some of them were minigames when they were included in the GC release of Animal Crossing, and that was over 15 years ago!

Nintendo are definitely improving in some areas but their approach on this is basically insulting to the public. Especially when you consider how many times they've resold those games over the years. SMB for example has been sold by Nintendo on the NES, SNES (part of Mario All Stars), GC (in Animal Crossing), GBA, three separate editions of the Virtual Console, Wii (part of re release of All Stars) and now again here. That's the ninth time by my count!

Thing is, with Nintendo's stellar first party line up over the years (and consoles) they could have made the paid online a must have for most people by offering some truly great games that people would want to play for the first time or replay. Granted, a lot of people could use this as an option to finally play the NES games for the first time, but I'd guess a lot of people will load them up, play them once then never touch them again as while I enjoy playing some of them on my NES mini every now and then some of them really haven't aged too well.

I've never liked the NES, a mate of mine had one and bar the Mario games, I never enjoyed playing on it.

I've had a lot of fun with NES games, but more now than back when I was a kid. Mainly due to lack of games I played back then compared to now.

Mario
Mega Man
Castlevania
Zelda
... And More.

Considering we at launch were genuinelly expecting a Netflix style Nintendo library, this offering for onine where they can't even cloud save some games is utter, utter toilet. Expected toilet, but still...toilet.

I never had one, but loved my cousin's. (Important apostrophe there, amirite?)

However, I scratched that itch 16 years ago by buying a NES on eBay. The only game I feel the need to go back to is SMB3, and I have that on the Pi.

This service is just so strawberry floating pointless.

I think the service launches tomorrow (19th) for the UK... although it's live today for the US.

I'm unsure about signing up; I think I'll hold off for now.

Does Monster Hunter require a sub to play on-line? It's probably the only game I'll be playing on-line at some point in the near future.
