What games are currently on people's 'To Buy' lists?

I still need to pick up MK8D, and for the future I'm interested in Super Mario Party, Metroid and that's about it at the moment.

No? Were still gonna be ok with random drive by questions and no engagement in discussion?

Just check out the post history in SONM, Rax. We're gonna have a LONG way to go with this.

Fisher, if it felt like you were participating in some form of two-way interaction then you wouldn't get such a rough ride. However, posting things in the vein of "might press button A next week will you" doesn't really encourage folk to chat. It feels like the joke was quirky and humorous at the start but, months later, it is just frustrating.

MK8D is definitely worth grabbing, Drum! My "games wanted" list on Switch is pretty slim. If I have the dough then I'd like to try Octopath and I may take a look at Disgaea 1 in October. Beyond those there is little else that would tempt me... but, hey, that's an opportunity to play the stuff that I already have :toot: .

I'll probably pick up MK8D at some point, particularly if it's cheap on the e-shop (never gonna happen). Other than that, I still want to get Stardew on Switch and will buy as soon as it gets a discount (I'm hoping the multiplayer might prompt that to drive some more sales) and I've got a pre-order for Pokemon in November. Beyond that, not much really, maybe Monster Hunter but not for a while and possibly Mario Party for the multiplayer over Christmas.

@Rax, Ad7, Jawa: I just don't understand why people who don't like Fisher can't just ignore him. It is utterly baffling to me that you would all insist on making the thread about him, and then complain about the thread being about him. As far as I'm concerned that is the problem, not his posting.

I have to disagree, Karl. To me, Fisher posts like an alt or a bot. It would normally sound awful to make such a comment and talk about someone as if they weren't here but - having looked through Fisher's post history in SONM - it's hard to imagine another explanation. There is barely any interaction or acknowledgement of discussion.

Sure, we could ignore Fisher. But I'm surprised that you feel the problem is people moaning about Fisher's posts.

They Switch is region free, so if I get an American physical copy of a game, it'll work right? Most people online seem to refer to its region free as pertaining to the eshop.

I’d like to try out Limbo/Inside as I’ve never played them.

Third Party wise, there are some recent ports I’m planning to get round to at some point-Crash, Wolfenstein II and South Park.

Also got Xenoblade 2 DLC in September to look forward to.

And then after that, Pokemon and Smash later in the year.

Think that’ll be my main purchases for the rest of 2018.

On Fisher: he’s quite obviously a troll at this point. While ‘don’t feel the trolls’ is sound advice, it’s... strange, to put it politely, to suggest that the troll-feeders are more at fault than the troll.

Out now, only Octopath, which I’m hoping will be a birthday present. My future list is quite long. Okami, TWEWY, Daemon x Machina, Smash, Let’s Go (probably Eevee but could be swayed), Hyper Light Drifter, Yoshi, Dark Souls, Metroid Prime 4, NMH3...

I stopped caring about the Mario Parties a long time ago.

He certainly isn't a bot, and to my knowledge he isn't the alt of any other active member either. He also demonstrates regularly that he does in fact read the thread. Which means he has as much right to post as anyone else, as long as he doesn't advertise and isn't abusive (which is pretty much our only two rules, and as you know even they're only loosely enforced).

Would you rather have a sour, tense thread that's stuck in this loop of moaning about him, or a positive thread that chats about the Switch? It's up to you.

Come on, Karl - that feels like a bit of a stretch.

I'm genuinely stunned. Karl, I have a lot of respect for you and the time and effort that you put into running GRcade, but I think that is an accusatory and unwarranted tone to take.

Sure, as an owner of the site I can understand that you want to make sure that all people have a voice and that we embrace unique styles - and I'm sure that most folk would support that view. For clarity, I do, too. However, in this case I feel that Fisher's style of posting is a joke that has gone too far.

The last maybe... five games have been awful, but Super Mario Party at least looks like A) a party game and B) an actual board game (was it 9 that had "boards" that were literally just a straight line to a star? I'd be ashamed if I were Nintendo and released that :slol: ), so it's already more promising than the previous additions to the franchise.

I'm excited, basically :toot:

Pretty sure folk on here have purchased imported carts for hard to find games from across the pond. The only problem would be the purchasing of DLC for an imported game, you'd need to buy it from that regions eShop.

His post originally just said 'hi' and I'm assuming he did that just so he could post it at his favourite time. It was edited about a minute later to what it says now.

Fisher, you do appear to have an enthusiasm for Nintendo stuff. I hope you can appreciate, though, that here in GRcade we like to have genuine discussions about topics and it helps if folk particpate in this through meaningful dialogue.

Jokes, banter and ribbing are perfectly fine - it's a part of our style! - but it helps if posts either add something or drive further discussion.

We all want to enjoy chatting about games (+ stuff) so lets focus on that. Thank you.

I think the only Switch games I have on my list are Let's Go! Eevee!, Smash Ultimate, and... maybe Mario Party. And maybe The World Ends With You as well. Mostly though, I'm just happy karting away on a Monday.

But why?

He hasn't broken any rules
He hasn't been abusive

I agree that ignoring posts is frustrating, but it isn't against the rules per se

And it's hardly like he dominates the thread - he posts once a day. It's the replies to him, and discussion about him, that do this

Karl is right - if you don't like it you can put him on ignore, but there are no grounds to ban him from the thread. And if we do that, then why not just ban other people because we don't like what they say or the way they say it?

Think about it this way: if he didn't post at 23:49 every day would you still be as aggrieved by his posts?

I eagerly await his non-reply about something strawberry floating random at 11:49.

More on topic I really need to get back to Octopath at some point. Really need that to tide me over for Dark Souls. Do we have a date for that yet or is it still the vague "Summer" they mentioned?
