"Congratulations on collecting all the stamps. Here's the credits."
*Credits play*
"Now go do everything else and you'll get a cool gift."
Thanks, Go Vacation... I guess...
Ah well. It's fun to explore the islands, and there's a ton of different racing stuff within it, so I'm happy.

I also got the credits last night. Didn't have a problem with it though? It unlocks the daily orienteering challenges, air drops and the head-to-head online challenges which add a lot of playability. Air drops were a cool surprise.

I've also concluded that the correct resort ordering is snow > mountain >> marine > city. City would be a lot more fun if tricks didn't require motion controls - an awful choice for handheld.

Oh, I'm not saying I have a problem with it. It's just that you unlock all the resorts and the second time of day through the stamps, then have to earn more than half of what you did before the last unlock and you get... I suppose the daily orienteering challenges are a good enough unlock with everything else, but it just felt as though something big was coming.
Maybe it's just me.

Also, worst offender for motion in handheld is the bungee jumping. It barely wants to work.

Bungee jumping :dread:

Saying that, I have a record of 0.00ft on 2 of the jumps somehow

The boxing minigame in city resort is the worst though

I was interested in it on Vita, doubly so on Switch.

Looks like Earthbound

Picked up Captain Toad's Treasure Tracker, what a brilliant little game.

Is there a good way of moving the cursor when playing with the pro controller?

Had a go at disassembling the dock and swapping the brains over last night. Worked surprisingly well! The youtube instructions they give you are reasonably easy to follow, so as long as you know how to hold a screwdriver you can probably manage it. I didn't have to modify any of the holes (a few of the reviews mention having to sand bits to make the sockets fit), but I think I just got lucky. Bit awkward unplugging the connector for the light, but as there's nowhere to mount that in the slim case it probably wouldn't matter if you wrecked it :shifty:

Crazy that the actual circuitry in there is so small and the dock itself is so cumbersome. Played a bit more Odyssey with it docked. I'm so used to playing it handheld now that I can't play it well with the classic controller  Will look into trying to fit the LED into this case somewhere too. Not exactly neccessary but it'd be nice to have.

Saboteur? . Blimey, that is a blast from the past, Rex! Whilst being highly regarded in it's day... I wonder if it'll stay up today?

Crumbs, Frank, it seems that you've been exercising your electronics skills. It'd be cool to see a pic of the updated kit :-) .

Meanwhile... it looks like Scribblenauts Mega Pack - containing Scribblenauts Unlimited and Scribblenauts Unmasked - is coming to Switch on 18 September. I say "looks like" because although the pack is confirmed for the USA, Wii U owners will recall thst Unmasked never actually got a release here and that Unlimited was delayed for a year. I hope it does arrive as I'd definitely jump in; I loved Super Scribbs on the DS.

Oh! And Okami is out today! It's a title that I've never played, but it has received a lot of praise in the past and the Switch-specific reviews are looking very positive.

Thus is exactly why I haven't got a pro controller and use the joycons in the grip - when I switch to handheld the experience and muscle memory remains exactly the same. I'd hate to be fighting different feeling controls when switching to handheld.

Yeah the pro controller is a must have if you play docked imo

Child of Light and Valiant Hearts have both been confirmed to be Switch releases this year! Never played CoL but VH was a great little game and I will double dip to have a portable version

Dead Cells is so so good. I'm loving playing these indie titles on the Switch.

Anyone else picking up Minit later today? I was unable to pre-order it yesterday and it says "Expected release date" rather than just "release date".

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

I want to get Dead Cells, too. I was faffing about deciding between the download version and the cart version and I missed the pre-launch 20% discount for the download version... so now I hope to get the cart version next Friday.

Minit will release today, Winckle - it didn't have a pre-order discount option but it'll be ready to purchase via the eShop at 14:00. I haven't seen gameplay but I love the graphic styling!

Edit: Minit looks amaze! I'm uncertain about the "rush around and meet the objective in sixty seconds" approach, though... I prefer to wander about! But, yeah, it does seem to be a neat game.

I tried out Elena Temple last night, it's pretty fun actually! The various fake machines and false history amuses me too.

Game looks great! Not sure about the central premise though ;)

Would like to add to the Valiant Hearts love here. It's one of the best looking games I've ever played (dat line work :datass: ) and it is really moving. In fact I might stream it soonish to promote it to Jawa, Jazzem, Grum and Pedz if he still lives my huge audience.

Minit sounds like a very interesting experiment but I think I'd rather just get on with playing the game then have to constantly go over bits.

Been quite tempted by Okami HD as I hear the touch screen and motion controls work really well.
