I bought this today, along with Hollow Knight.

I started West of Loathing first though as Hollow Knight was still downloading. It's great, had me laughing out loud a few times already, only been playing 2 or 3 hours but I'm really enjoying it so far. No idea how long the game is but for £9 even if it's only 10 hours I really couldn't complain if it keeps up the comedy, it looks to have a remarkably large map from the looks of things but then some locations don't to have much to do so I'm not really sure if they correlate. Love the music in the game as well.

Think I'd definitely reccomend as well :)

That conference has really soured me on Nintendo. All those studios and yet barely... nothing. The year looks barren on releases and I can’t understand why.

A 2019 as big as 2017? Seems a good strategy to have a less action-packed year between the large ones.

If only Nintendo had a method other than E3 throughout the year for announcing new games.

I think it’s unfortuate timing development issues across a number of projects. It wouldn’t have been unreasonable to expect Pikmin 4, Fire Emblem, Yoshi and something from Retro this E3, and for release this year.

Pikmin and Yoshi have dropped off a cliff and something has clearly not gone to plan at Retro.

Fire Emblem slipping is also unfortunate but the trailer looked promising and it did look fairly ambitious.

Just two of those titles making a 2018 release would have bulked things up though.

Where they'll dedicate another 50% of it to Smash Bros again :toot:

I'd guess their next direct will be Spetember/October time so not too long to wait but still, I'd have loved even some teases for what non Smash fans and Smash fans alike can look forward to in 2019 considering how light on content the direct seemed to be.

Nintendo seem pretty set on treating E3 like just another Direct, even more so this year.

I wonder if the people from retro that 343 recruited has had an impact.

I think this is something we need to accept. They work on a 3/4 month Direct schedule, looking no more than 6 months ahead.

I do think, if they’d gone into that conference with no prior mention of Smash and Pokemon, and revealed both, the reaction would be very different. I don’t think they helped themselves at all with the format of the show, and spent way too long on Smash, but I also don’t think people have aligned their expectations with how Nintendo are doing things.

Also, I get the feeling that the only reason why Fire Emblem was here at all was because people were asking about it after not seeing it for more than a year.

Awesome that Hollow Knight just appeared. Been waiting to get it on Switch for ages.

Had a quick shot of Fortnight, too. What a load of absolute twaddle. I can't believe that trash is made by Epic, while the new Unreal Tournament languishes with no attention. The strawberry floating UI looks like a Sky TV game from 15 years ago. Actually, come to think of it, is the Switch version a beefed up port of the mobile game that came out a while ago? That would make a lot of sense.

The headphone socket is in the top of the machine, Rex - so we should be able to chat in both docked and portable mode :-).

I'd need a hell of a long cable to reach my sofa then.

How much is the Mario and Rabbids DK DLC/season pass? Don't know whether to wait for the Gold edition now or pick up the base game up separately.

Also got around to watching the Pikmin shorts (they're on Dailymotion). They were quite nice, but I'd have been annoyed if I had paid the $5 or so they're meant to cost.

Is Castle Rock in Rayman Legends the greatest videogame level of all time?

Yes. Yes it is.

The music levels in Rayman legends are all super awesome, I think it's an almost flawless game.

Rayman Legends is an absolute storming 2d platformer, nailing that flow state on a level is just sublime.

Haha  . Yeah, I guess so if you're on your sofa, Rex!

I think the seasons pass saves you around three quid against buying the content individually, Osito - I looked yesterday but can't remember the exact pricing. You can look it up in the eShop - just search for the game and then look at the add-on content; the season pass lists the content and the individual pricing. The Gold Edition has been out for quite a while now, even though the new expansion hasn't arrived yet.

Exactly, the way it timed your movements with the music was pure genius. I had a massive grin on my face the whole time and instantly replayed the level afterwards.
