I may have already asked this, so apologies if so.

If you add titles to your watch list in the eShop, do you get any kind of notification when those titles are on sale?

Nope. Really defeats the whole point of a watch list.

I’m glad Bethesda are being pretty supportive of the Switch, as are Ubisoft. While the first/second party content still makes up the majority of my gaming time on the Switch there’s still a fewe series I’d like to see come to the Switch (even if I wouldn’t necessarily purchase all of them).

I guess a big part of it still comes down to how many compromises they want to/need to make to get a game thats launching on the PS4/Xbox One to run nicely on the Switch. It’ll be very interesting to see how Doom Eternal on Switch stands up against the PS4 and Xbox One versions when it releases.

I was really expecting lots of PS3/X360 era titles to start coming over as well as current gen titles, stuff like

Dishonoured 1 & 2
Tomb Raider reboot trilogy
Batman Arkham Trilogy

Should (hopefully) be coming over.

Regards to Doom Eternal, apparently it's being developed with the Switch in mind so it should run/look great on Switch

It was only the first Tomb Raider that was released on PS3/360, then the Definitive Edition came out on PS4/Bone. Rise and Shadow are current gen only.

I had this on ps3 and loved it, but never finished it, so I think I'll pick it up.

Actually Rise did come out on Xbox 360 so they could port that version to Switch. Shadow was Xbone/PS4 only though.

Dishonored 2 was current gen only as well, and it ran like a dog as well so it would struggle on Switch I imagine.

Would love to have it though! Arkane

In another case of Crapcom, the ports of Resident Evil 0, REmake and RE4 are releasing April 9th......priced at $30 dollars each!!! That’s $10 dollars more than other platforms so we’ll probably be around £20-25

Not only that, REmake and RE0 are getting a physical release in the US, RE0 being on a cart whilst REmake is a download code :slol: whilst Capcom Europe stick with digital only releases as per usual.

I’ll be passing on these until they are at least 50% off in a sale.

Yeah, the costs are higher than I'd anticipated - the Japanese eShop has them priced at 3,300 yen (£23) each - and the storage space required is pretty sizeable, too.

Go Nintendo wrote:Resident Evil 0, HD Remaster, and 4 might not be hitting Switch until May 2019, but don't let that stop you from preloading the titles now. All three games are available to preload on the Switch eShop in Japan, support English, and are priced at ¥3,300. Resident Evil 0 takes up 13.6 GB, HD Remaster needs 16.2 GB, and 4 comes in at 12.0 GB.

I'm not a Resi fan but I was thinking about maybe getting Resi 4; but like you, Milner, I'll wait for a sale!

Hopefully they do something like they did with Revelations 1 and 2 when you purchase 1 you get a discount on the others also similar to the Bayonetta games.

Why not get it on PS4 when it's on sale for pennies?

I just find it weird that people would want to pay over the odds to have it on the switch when you can play it on pretty much every console since the GameCube.

I know, but not everyone plays it portably (that a word?)

I personally don't and.would rather buy on another platform if it significantly cheaper, which is why I get most stuff in PC.

Even if I did do portable, I very much doubt I would pay £10+ for the privelage.

And that's my reason for wanting Remake and 0 on Switch even though I own them on PS4/Steam

Not too fussed on 4 but will get it anyway. So are they now coming out over here in April too or is it still some time in May for UK?

The eShop is region free, if the RE games are cheaper somewhere else then just buy it from that region!

I don't see the appeal of buying physical games any more either - I own three games on cart for my Switch: MK8, BoTW and Odyssey and they get played comfortably less than downloaded games just because fiddling with carts is such a faff!

While you're far from alone, you're also far from in a majority on this. Don't forget that the whole selling point of the machine was being able to play it as both. To back this up, Nintendo surveyed Switch users a while back and found that actually slightly more people play only on the go (although the overwhelming majority play both ways).

Now, I'm not saying that all those people will pay significantly over the odds for games - most will probably make a decision weight up portability, cost, performance, and presence of achievements/trophies among other things. I am saying that you seem to be underestimating the appeal of portability to most of the Switch's audience.
