Crumbs, Frank, it seems that you've been exercising your electronics skills. It'd be cool to see a pic of the updated kit :-) .

Can I remember how to link to instagram?

Totally forgot to get a decent picture of the Switch sitting in there, so I'll have to snap one for you later. The amount of extra space in the original dock around the circuitboard is crazy :slol:

Digital Foundry gave praise to the port. The touch controls apparently work very well but I'd suggest caution with the joy-con motion controls; their gyro tech just isn't as accurate as the Wii Remote Motion Plus tech.

That's a nice bit of work, Frank :) . I like that smaller version, albeit I guess the reason for the original dock's size is because it provides an element of protective cover around the main console. Cool stuff, though, and thanks for sharing the pics!

Oh! And you're "Chris" :o . I wondered who that was on my Twitter feed! Are you "Chris" on the Switch, too?

I may just get this as I cannot seem to find the motivation to play it on the PS4 due to the stupid number of exclusives it has. A handheld version for £16 odd should do me fine.

I am! My twitter is almost exclusively shouting at trains so I apologise about that :shifty:

But yeah, I'm also the Chris that added you on the Switch the other day!

The switch dock really is ugly, id be amazed if it doesn't get a significant redesign at some point.

A few more deals have smashed into the eShop!

Yell and roar as you learn of these offers, including Owlboy £11, Crypt of the Necrodancer £7, Gorogea £7, Super Bomberman R £25, Floor Kids £10 and Neo Atlas 1469 £19.

Yeah, the range doesn't seem to be quite as cool as last week's offers :shifty: . If you were thinking about one of those, best snap it up quick as those offers run out today.

I really like a lot of what DF produce but the one thing I don't go to them for is actual game critique. I've read some other reviews saying they work really well and are superior to the Wii version (which was a majestic magical way to play it). Although one of those explained that it was better as for the Wii they had to move their whole forearm around which was bizarre. It was never like that. Makes me wonder what the strawberry float people were doing back then.

You only use the brush in short bursts so the "drifting" you might get without the IR shouldn't be an issue. Unless the people who made it are berks. I'm more worried about getting bored of it in the final quarter again.

I'll be picking up Okami and Crypt of the Necrodancer.

Owlboy is well worth £11.

40% of PixelJunk Monsters 2 looks like a decent deal. I'm also quite tempted by Smoke and Sacrifice, that might scratch an itch that only Don't Starve has managed to in the past.

There's been a couple of times where the sale price is the same as it would be on, say, Steam (Thimbleweed Park comes to mind) but that tends to be a nice surprise than a regular occurrence. There's a really frustrating lock on the cost of Nintendo games. Can hardly find a proper deal anywhere.

Nothing on my watch list has a new discount but I'm still thinking about Dandara, along with Minit, Hollow Knight, and Okami.

I think sales have been decent on Switch, they are pretty regular and 40-60% off is not unusual.

Any doubts I had about the world were quashed almost instantly, it's brilliantly put together and great fun to explore. Then moved on the the Seaside Kingdom, which is giving off real Sunshine vibes. The transformations are still brilliantly inventive, will be interesting to see if this keeps up.Will definitely keep playing post-game, just playing around in the various worlds and searching for more moons. Easily my GOTY, hard to see this being beaten anytime soon.

Oh man, do they ever. You're still in for an absolute treat. Odyssey is so strawberry floating good.

It really is :toot:
Done the next couple of worlds of Odyssey, finishing the main campaign. Beautifully designed, constantly inventive and superbly polished. Amazing stuff, can't think of a world I didn't like, and I already want to dive back in. Onto the post-game, plenty of moons to go. Also got me wanting to fire up Mario Maker and Galaxy too.

Disappointed in the sale line-up, was hoping for some big first-party games, Celeste and Hollow Knight. Might pick up Owlboy instead, seems an okay discount.

Child of Light and Valiant Hearts have both been confirmed to be Switch releases this year! Never played CoL but VH was a great little game and I will double dip to have a portable version

Would like to add to the Valiant Hearts love here. It's one of the best looking games I've ever played (dat line work :datass: ) and it is really moving. In fact I might stream it soonish to promote it to Jawa, Jazzem, Grum and Pedz if he still lives my huge audience.

It's a great game, looking forward to it :toot:

Definitely recommend this, its a really interesting puzzle game with a very different mechanic.

Just watched a video review for that Gorogoa thing that mentioned it's $5 on the app store. But still £7 in a *sale* on the Switch? Looks reasonably interesting but the length sounds a bit disappointing.

Its £5 on iOS, games generally have to be cheaper in order to sell. Its not unreasonable pricing.

As for the length of the game, if you knew what to do going in I'm sure it wouldn't take long to beat. But I'd say its enough game for the price personally.

Is Super Bomberman R worth it at 50% pff, now it has the extra content?

Als, any thought on Serial Cleaner? The premise is intriguing.

I'd say it is. I finished it in an hour or so on my 'phone at work. It is interesting, but felt like it played its most impressive trick in the second fifth of the game, and didn't have a lot more to offer after that other than the beautiful artwork.

Gorogoa is short, but it’s one of the most interesting things I’ve played in years. It’s really clever. It doesn’t play the same, but it reminds me in some ways of the cleverness of Braid. I highly recommend it.
