strawberry floats sake, my willpower is seriously crumbling with regard to shelling out for Skyrim (again!) for Switch. I've watched loads of video reviews and they're all really positive, it looks like a perfect port. I'm also not helping myself by listening to the soundtrack and imagining playing it while having a poo or on my lunch break. It could be so beautiful

But I've already got the Special Super Extreme Turbo Edition on PS4 (to go with the PC and PS3 versions I've owned for years). I've already poured hundreds of hours of my life into this game across 3 platforms and 7 years, can I really justify spending £40+ on the same game again? Haven't I already seen it all? No, I haven't seen it all, there are still some places I've never visited, some quests I've never attempted, some DLC I've never sampled (not even tried Dawnguard or Dragonborn), some enemies I've never whacked with my claymore. And the loot! By the Nines, the loot :datass:

My wife wouldn't be impressed (and Skyrim is one of the few games that she knows I already own, so I couldn't con her that way :slol: ).

What is a Nord to do? Talos guide me :?:

Remember when Albear hid his PS3 from his wife?

Do that.

Do it! I got mine with the Switch in a bundle as a way to justify it (cost a tenner), and it’s amazing to have it to play on the go. No issues with the port, it’s cracking!

I too have been resisting the urge to triple dip on Skyrim for Switch!

My main issue is that I think I have become so used to playing it on PC with loads of mods and higher framerate that I may struggle with the "vanilla" experience on Switch.

If there is ever a decent sale on it I know that my resolve may well be broken... :fp:

The frame rate and performance never bothers me with these big games, it feels like magic to playing strawberry floating Skyrim on a tablet.

What does this mean? NES only? They are so bad at explaining things. They need to come out and say exactly what’s happening!

Pretty sure they already said it would be NES only at launch. The image in the tweet is a link to their website that explains it

twitter.com/NintendoUK/status/1027826905830096896

20 NES games at launch, 10 of which being:

Ice Climber
The Legend of Zelda
Balloon Fight
Soccer
Tennis
Mario Bros.
Super Mario Bros.
Dr. Mario
Super Mario Bros. 3
Donkey Kong

So Nintendo have somehow managed to come up with a sold-out console, and they decide to bolster it with an online service that's on a par with Animal Crossing on the GameCube.

It’s not for me to question Nintendo’s logic, but Soccer and Tennis are basically dog’s dirt now. So dated and simple, I can’t see what adding online play to them will meaningfully add. (Sigh)

Will still probably subscribe, but I do wish they just actually sold games rather than locked them into a sub.

Anyone thinking about getting Skyrim again for their Switch..... Just do it :D

As you all probably know it is a fantastic game (I don't think I need to sell the actual game to anyone really ) but the port is fantastic and being able to play it on a handheld just makes it really special in my opinion. Looks great in handheld and docked (obviously better docked, not quite as nice visually as the other special editions) as well.

Plus playing the Switch version you can get a Master Sword, Hylian Shield and Champions Tunic :)

I tried playing Skyrim for the first time on Switch. Don't hate me... but I couldn't get into it. I know the first hour is meant to be bobbins compared to the rest of the game, but even when I got out of the tunnels, the viewpoint felt cramped and the open world didn't look that great compared to, say, BotW. Which is my only open-world game thus far, which probably leaves Skyrim (and every other open-world title) at a bit of a disadvantage.

I'm playing Iconoclasts instead, a game with unremarkable gameplay but a remarkable story (thus far). That may get shunted aside by Okami though.

Seeing as I posted a picture of my GC collection the other day, here's my much smaller Switch collection.

At present I think there's only MK8D out there that I want to add.

Xenoblade and Disgaea are both really good if you like lengthy single-player games.

I'm quite enjoying Dead Cells although I've noticed a few little hitches when playing. Not ideal when a missed dodge can send you right back to the beginning.

Got the Pikachu version with the Go Plus preordered but I might just cancel it and get the normal version.

Hopefully I get another update on the Paid online with a LOCKED ON DATE and will this tie in with a firmware update (hence the lack of lock on time frame?)
