This E3 and this christmas season are going to be huge for Nintendo. E3 will cover releases for the last half of 2017 and the first half of 2018, and should include a lot of information about the bug Holiday game, Mario Odyssey. If they can get a Pokemon game out (even an enhanced version of Sun/Moon) in time for Christmas, that would be massive, too.

Mario Odyssey already looks the gooseberry fool, hopefully they show off something F-Zero, GX in HD would do!

Mario Odyssey will be the Christmas headliner and I can see Smash Bros Deluxe, Animal Crossing and a couple of updated ports packing out the rest of the year. 2018 will be headlined by a new Pokemon, Retros game and a few other updated games including Mario Maker

Pikmin 4 and a GC HD port to go with Mario this Christmas is my prediction.

I reckon next year will see Animal Crossing, Smash and Pokemon.

Surely Retro will be at this E3 too.

I'd love to see at least one surprise fan-favourite new Switch game being announced at E3 to hit before the end of the year (F-Zero, Metroid, etc.).

Here's what I think it more likely to happen...

A reduced price, easier-to-control Star Fox Zero or re-releases of other Wii U software (Toad, Yoshi's World, etc.).

People talking about Switch games for this year from Nintendo beyond what has already announced I think need to calm their expectations a little.

There are 3 big games they've announced for this year in Fire Emblem Warriors, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and Super Mario Odyssey and there are basically 5 months to release those games in (August onwards).

It doesn't appear that Nintendo are in a hurry to overlap their releases too much so I wouldn't expect them to release (at the very most) more than 1 big title each month. In fact they are likely to take at least one month out. Basically at the very most if they launch what they've said they will this year you can only expect 1 other big title for the year to be announced at E3.

I'm still dubious over Xenoblade Chronicles 2 releasing this year, i can see it being delayed till 2018 and a port of the Wii U game coming this year.

If we work on the fact that Nintendo are looking to release 1 big game every month, this is the current calendar

June - ARMS
July - Splatoon 2
August - ??
September - ??
October - ??
November - Super Mario Odyssey?
December - Fire Emblem Warriors?

So that's potentially 3 months depending on XC2 which they will need to fill. Pikmin 4 is a possibility if this was the Pikmin game Myamoto mentioned last year as being nearly complete. If they are going to release a deluxe edition of Smash Bros Wii U then it would need to have content added like MK8: Deluxe.

I'd welcome a port of Xenoblade Chonricles X as I barely played it on the Wii U and the portable nature of the Switch will make me more likely to finish a JRPG like Xenoblade. I've put over 60 hours into Zelda since the Switch came out and I know that I wouldn't have played as much had it not been so easy to switch my gameplay style :toot:

Well they've already got a month off in May, I can see them doing something similar in August or September.

August - No big release
September - Fire Emblem Warriors
October - To be filled
November - Super Mario Odyssey
December - Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (or replacement game if it doesn't make it).

There's a zero percent chance Nintendo doesn't announce a first party title for 2017 at E3. They've never done it before, they aren't about to start.

Like I said there is probably one month they have to fill with a new game.

Not that I think they have to do that, when E3 rolls around they will have 4 big unreleased Switch games to show off for 2017, I don't know why they'd absolutely have to add to that. They'll show new stuff for 2018 presumably.
