Fallout 4 would be a decent seller, I'd reckon. I'd also like to have a good RTS on this, but I guess that's never going to happen.

I remember at mad catz telling someone senior that Nintendo would probably do something interesting after the gooseberry fool Wii U and that we should think about making things for whatever it turns out to be.

"Who cares about Nintendo? They're finished"

Oh the irony

The numbers are objectively great, but it still upsets me that most Switch owners don't own Zelda

If you’re a third party dev you’re probably not looking at that with much optimism though.

I'm currently playing it and, to be honest, I'm still not sure I like it that much.

I absolutely love Mario Odyssey though, glad to see the majority of owners have a copy :)

What’s interesting is in addition to the big 20m hardware sales forecast for this fiscal year, they’re also forecasting 100m software sales, which is huge. Pokemon, Smash and Labo will likely do big numbers as well as the smaller titles like DK, Mario Tennis and Yoshi have the potential to make a decent contribution but they must have a few other big releases in the pipeline, like Animal Crossing or 2D Mario to hit that.

Weird.

For me its probably the best game Nintendo have released since Super Mario 64, its not just that its a very good game, I think its one of the best games ever made.

I'm not disagreeing with you, objectively every critic and most fans hold it in high esteem.

I'm not enjoying it as much as I though I would though, that doesn't mean that I don't think it's bad or anything.

I hope those numbers for Xenoblade mean it's beaten their expectations and we'll get something else from them.

He will be replaced by board member of both Nintendo and The Pokémon Company, Shuntaro Furukawa.

Furukawa joined Nintendo back in 1994, and has been Outside Director of the Pokémon Company since 2012. He's also assumed the roles of Managing Executive Officer, Supervisor of Corporate Analysis & Administration Division and Director of Nintendo since 2016. It is being reported in Nikkei that Furukawa worked on the Switch’s sales and marketing plans, and that he has previously spent ten years working in Europe.

Nikkei also reports that the switch isn't due to Kimishima's performance; in fact, it was Kimishima himself who thought that Nintendo’s management needed to be "younger" in order to understand the needs of its customers.

In addition, Satoru Shibata is leaving his role as president of Nintendo of Europe to take on a more global role at Nintendo Co. Ltd (NCL). At this time the company have not named a replacement for Shibata-san at Nintendo of Europe.

That's a massive surprise! Post Iwata I think he's done a really good job. Big shoes to fill and all that.

It was never planned to be a permanent position for Kimishima. I believe his appointment was seen as a temporary one to manage the transition post Iwata.

Yeah this was the case. Bit of a shock about Shibata though. Wonder who will be turning up in Directs now? Could it be...................... Dala? :o

Still not really over Iwata tbh. :(

Great sales figures. Haven't 3D Mario games been notoriously bad performers? Weird to see the Zelda figures, didn't that have a ludicrously high attach rate when the Switch launched?

Not really.

64 was best selling game on N64.
Sunshine was only beaten by DD and Melee
3D World was only beaten by MK8

SMG and SMG2 are the ones that are further off the top but a lot of more unorthodox Wii software like Wii Resort, Wii Fit and Wii Plag did crazy numbers and the Galaxy games still sold well (13m for 1 and 7m ish for 2)
