It better not be! It doesn't come out over here until 2010!
There is a ton of stuff for the core coming out, but it seems to be across a wider range of genres and is probably more "niche" than the X360 lineup. There also seems to be this perception that if a Wii game gets average reviews of 8 and 7s then it isn't worth buying, while X360 games in that range are "still worth a punt", so most Wii games get shuffled under the carpet and forgot about.
Although to respond to the topic itself. I don't think there is anything actually wrong with what she said, it's the way she said it that was the problem. Hardcore gamers
are impossible to satisfy. You'll see people on forums saying "Sequel please!" on the same day some games launch, for instance. We're also a very forward looking bunch and we need announcements to keep us going, as the minute a big name game comes out we consume it and move on. In that sense we're quite easy to control, and Microsoft have the "hype machine" approach to marketing down to a fine art. Nintendo seem to be using the same tactic (announcing and launching close together) to target both markets, while they really should just return to announcing the big games two or three years before they launch to keep "us" hanging around, and then announcing the Wii ____ and other games closer to launch.
