Any gamepad features at all? For example I used to always forget the voice commands at the wrong moment. Touch screen buttons would he useful for that.

Would be nice to play on big vivid telly but maybe I'll just get my steam box sorted out.

jawafour wrote:Yeah, I'd probably be up for Zelda Twilight, Star Fox Zero, Pik 4, Papes and Zelda U.

There are a couple of third party disc titles, too: Lego Avengers (next week) and Mighty No. 9 (Feb)... plus maybe Minecraft (TBC).

There's no getting away from the fact that pickings will be slim, but hopefully eShop releases wiil bolster the line-up.

Don't forget Yooka Laylee Jawa :toot:

Now, this is the kind of comment that could cause hysteria! Don't panic, Club U - TWA isn't about to leave the U behind. I have it on good authority that he'll soon be back online and continuing his role as a complete gooseberry fool in Mario Kart  .

Jawa

strawberry floating dust allergy going nuts right now. :dread:

Yooka Laylee is scheduled for October isn't it?

I wonder if the NX will be a 2017 thing or will some of these Wii U games be cross gen and also have NX versions ready for the systems launch

Magic, you missed it - it had a few quid off about two weeks ago but it's back to the standard price now, dude. I kinda wish I had picked it up, too.

Magic, it'll be on offer in the eShop from 14:00 on Thursday:
Affordable Space Adventures (KnapNok Games) - €13.20/ £11.80 (Ends February 4, normally €18.99 / £16.99)

I've not picked it up, magic - but it gained a warm reception with an 81 assessment on Metacritic. I'd like to support it because it's hugely original, contains some good ideas and is exclusive to the U... but I've only just splashed out on another game so I'm not sure.

SEPTEMBER
Paper Mario U?

NOVEMBER
LoZ U

Thrown in a couple of GC remasters like Super Mario Sunshine and that's not bad for a system on its last legs

Not bad for a Nintendo system on its last legs, more like. A couple of HD remakes, a shitty fighting game, a shitty Olympics game, some potential releases that may or may not happen/exist and 2 genuinely good games worth buying.

Wow. The year of the WiiU is upon is.

Finally completed the triforce hunt on Wind Waker. Nowhere near as bad as I thought it was going to be. Going to pick up Super Mario RPG tomorrow

So Final Fantasy Tactics Advance is on Virtual Console - Im hoping this is leading to a EU release of Secret of Mana & Chrono Trigger.

Unless of course you've not yet bought one. In which case the year's line-up looks like this:

JANUARY
Post reply to chalkitdown on GRcade

FEBRUARY
Wii U price slashed to £149.99 with two free gaemz (Splatoon and DMLGOTF Mario Maker)

MARCH
Mario Kart 8 announced as free-to-play for all Wii U owners. GR stream becomes most popular channel on Twitch; Steve comes out of forum retirement, his subsequent swear-laden tirade against noobs goes viral

APRIL
Starfox U released; actually a cross between Lylat Wars & GC Starfox Adventures (except good) with elements of Metroid Prime and Fallout 4 thrown in. Early GOTY contender

MAY
Nintendo admit AC amiibo festival was a filler; full-on proper Wii U Animal Crossing announced. Best version yet

JUNE
Nintendo announced its new "U MUST BUY MII" range of discount hits. Each title £9.99 + free amiibo. Dan buys Wind Waker HD, Mario 3D World, Pikmin 3, Smash Bros and Tropical Freeze

JULY
Pikmin 4 MMO; Nintendo profits go through the roof; movie-tie-in announced directed by Alejandro G. Iñárritu

AUGUST
Mario and Sonic at Rio pulled due to IAAF doping scandal; Sega decide to develop good games instead. Sonic Boom 2 not terrible; jawa vindicated

SEPTEMBER
Paper Mario U better than TTYD, absolutely nothing like the vile piece of scum that was 'Super' Paper Mario. True believers rejoice

OCTOBER
Sony announce PS5 in order to counter struggling PS4 sales due to Nintendominance

NOVEMBER
Zelda U so good, solves international conflicts. UN announces 'World Peace Day'; Bernie Sanders' speech: "no longer shall any nation Triforce in resolving their differences". Wins Presidential race by landslide; confessed Xbox owner Trump fails to carry any states

DECEMBER
GRcade replaces Google as default homepage for Chrome users; Dan buys Captain Toad. Slightly disappointing. But hey, it's Christmas :toot:

Think you're being a trifle optimistic there Dan. Starfox won't be out till May.

Toot-toot-toot! Dan is the man with his finger on the pulse of videogaming :toot: .

This may actually happen because the first sign appeared today - Lego Marvel Avengers will have a season pass available for the Wii U version! :o . See, the system really is now getting the same content as other consoles... third party season passes - now we can have the option of paying more for games, too  .

I bought it when it was on sale before Christmas. It's since gone the way of most other titles I own (put to one side for 'later'), but I played a good chunk of it and really liked it.

Excellent use of the gamepad and really nicely designed, very much worth the price it's going for.

You could almost call it...

Even More Affordable Space Adventures...!

:D

I dunno about magicmilner, but I think I'll hold off for now - the discount has come at the wrong time for me. Maybe I'll take another look in a few months time.

Has anyone bother with GBA games on Wii U? I'm interested in buying some but just wondered if they looked OK on the gamepad? Some of screens look a bit rough
