Of any version, I would probably have gotten into Minecraft on Wii U. Just because I work in my office where my gaming PC is, I don't really want to do lots of creative procrastination there, whereas the Wii U is exclusively a device for mucking about having fun.

I think I might be the only person who preferred the Netflix app before the very recent update.

Is it closer to the other console experiences now?

That's good for me, because one issue I have with the PS3 is it's strawberry floating loud, I hope there is still touch screen scrubbing tho.

I've just taken some old 60gb laptop hard disk, literally stuck it together with tape and rubber bands, an IDE to USB adapter and a powered usb hub and it seems to be working fine. Wii U Premium get. :datass: My micro sd usb adapter always had to be inserted while the console was on to be detected so doing that to access any dlc was getting pretty annoying. Now I should be able to power up my wii u from bed and have access to all my download games.

Nice work, Gecko! Your kit looks like something made from bits and pieces discovered in the Fallout wasteland :datass: .

This game has the most ridiculous plot. I loved it. The carrier level is a highlight.

Gunman Clive HD collection, Runbow, Star Tropics 1 and 2 are also out this week.

I wanted to pick it up too but seemed a waste to put it on an old console with nowt else on it (wii), plus it required classic controller. I'm assuming this has gamepad support.

Geeeeeeeecckkoooo! The Wii has a huge back catalogue of excellent emulated games and they generally run extremely well. Mega Drive, SNES, PC Engine and lots more. The Wii Virtual Console is easily my favourite way to play older games; more so than on the U to be honest.

But, yeah, I've got Sin and Punishment on N64 (Jap) and Wii... but haven't played it which I admit is a complete disgrace.

EDIT: Oh, and Rayman Legends will be on sale for just £9.49 in the eShop from Thursday. A cracking price for a super game.

I've saved £60. Plus I found a use for some Lego Mindstorms stickers.

Yeeeeeaaah.. I know. But Wii U is HDMI + gamepad support and I have a few other VC games on there. I haven't bought any old games on the Wii, only to pay for an "upgrade" on Wii U.

In fact, I've barely barely spent anything, apart from the Kirby sale, which was Wii U only. So my emus are all on there. I got Super Metroid for free and that's it.

At a recent LAN party I pictured up a tonne of emus however so at some point I will get those running on home theatre PC under the telly.

One thing I never liked (and evidently never bothered sorting out) was needing a classic controller tethered to a Wii remote too for the best retro controls. When I eventually get a pro controller for Wii U that would be overall a better experience for the few games I have. I agree that the "comfy couch" and great Nintendo controllers for the Wii did/do work nicely though, I just never bought any VC stuff as I picked up the console late and I guess I never saw the appeal of spending ££ on retro titles. I'd rather have them on the original console (which I have right back to the SNES)!

Fair enough, GG. I was fortunate enough to pick up quite a few Wii Shop points when my local Morrisons cleared out most of their gaming gear, and so I have some classics to play through :toot: .

It's working really well, although I have to switch it off at the wall or it runs all night.
