It seems that these challenges appeared after Nintendo had chatted with Yacht Club and, funnily enough, the game is now going to arrive for the Switch soon after launch.

There were another couple of similar announcements yesterday but I can't be bothered to look them up again; tears are in my eyes and they're starting to sting. Zelda is going to be one helluva swan-song, though :) .

Source? Because that's contrary to everything they've said before. I take it you mean the Spectre Knight campaign?

Unfortunately the developers themselves, Squinty:

We’ve had a long conversation with Nintendo and given their recent reveals, we can now announce: Hollow Knight is making the switch to Nintendo’s new portable/home/hybrid platform!... Though we can confirm the Switch as a release platform, we also have to confirm that Hollow Knight will no longer make its way to the Wii U. That’s not a step we’ve taken lightly. Our Wii U release has recently been hampered by several technical challenges and though we’d love to see Hollow Knight on our favourite console, we feel the quality difference would end up such that Wii U players will be experiencing a lesser version of the game.

Nintendo seems to be getting developers to all stick to the "technical challenges" issue that seems to have arrisen within the past month :fp: .

That's nothing to do with Shovel Knight.

HOLD IT! OSC.... you're right!

So...

> Yacht Club *don't* have any technical challenges with the Wii U and - as far as we know! - the Spectre Knight expansion will come to Shovel Knight - hoorah!
> Cherry Team *do* have technical challenges with the Wii U and the Hollow Knight game won't come to the Wii U - boo!

I like it because it's weird. It's half a normal console like the GameCube, half 3ds, also with waggle compatibility.

"It should be common sense to just accept the message Nintendo are sending out through their actions."

All the Switch talk has made me reassess my Wii U. Blew dust off it and moved it upstairs to me new 24 inch monitor. Gotta to say that the picture at full HD on games like Mario Kart and Donkey Kong look great. Also finally sorted WiiFlow and Nintendont so I can play Wii and GC roms. As a machine that can play the last three console libraries it really does remind me how good the U is when it's good.

Suffice to say, I placed my order for Zelda today.

Me too as it will be the final release for the console and I don't plan to Switch for a while

A Legend of Zelda game sale will start in the eShop on Thursday; all Zelda titles will be reduced by 30% on both Wii U, 3DS and their respective Virtual Consoles.

Sure, eShop prices are generally quite high but remember that some Zelda titles are already in the Select category so there could be a couple of deals worth looking at if you have a few gaps in your Zelda library.

Nice, I've never played majora's mask so this may be the time to get that add long as the price isn't daft.

I knew that Ocarina of Time 3D would go on sale after I bought it

Uhm... that one may not be exactly "cheap", Ad. I think the standard price is £35, which means that - after applying the 30% saving - it'd be about £24.

To be fair, Dragon, even paying fifteen wraps feels reasonable for some of the best-ever field simulation in videogaming :toot: .

It's easily worth £24, especially if you've never played it. Majora's Mask was my favourite Zelda game until Skyward Sword.

I agree. I just found it funny that, after waiting ages in case it went on sale and then buying it anyway, it went on sale :P

This has gone live and not only is MM £40 :dread: but the discount is a ONE TIME CODE so if you wanted a few you only get a discount on one.

What sort of shitehawks are they? It's probably more effort to setup a sale like that than it is to just let people buy all they want at a discount price. All they've managed to do with that sale is annoy people.
