It's not clear if theyre resolving an issue affecting people redeeming the offer or sorting out the "one time use" issue. Guess we'll find out soon.

Yeah they've realised there shouldn't be any discount.

Meh, everything is available boxed/preowned at same prices and probably the best deal is the gameboy games on 3DS as they're still stupid expensive on ebay, and the 1:1 pixel mapping is very nice.

For example you can get wind waker hd for 13.80 quid at Tesco direct or the original box art for 18.

The only thing I'm vaguely interested in is Hyrule Warriors DLC. I think there's been new DLC coming out recently?

On the store on my u I have 2 just for me deals, one that is a one time claim the other that is a repeat claim.

I'm not going to get anything mind you, I'd get twilight princess hd but I got a load of windwaker to still do and I can probably buy it on physical for less.

Sadly this. Was all ready to pick up MM but it's just too much when I could get it cheaper down the line, much cheaper. You know it'll be in the Selects range very soon.

I have them all on 3DS already. Except LTTP, so I might pick that up if it approaches a reasonable price

I have it on gba. Not a big fan of picking up multiple ports.

PC Engine (TurboGrfx) titles are coming to the Wii U Virtual Console :o . Bomberman '94 and Gradius launch on Thursday.

This feels so odd; over four years after launch and just as the console is being replaced, we finally see PC Engine titles arrive  :fp: . To be fair, though, Bomberman '94 is regarded as being an excellent version of the classic title. I'd suggest that, if you are a U owner, the smart move could be to pick this version up rather than paying out forty or fifty quid for the new Switch version.

I think some PC Engine titles are already on there and have been for a while, I picked up R-Type on it as I previously owned that on the Wii Virtual console.

Seems a really odd time to release them, it's a shame it's not Bomberman '93 as that's the version I owned on the original Wii Virtual console. Would be much likelier to buy one of them if there was word on the Switch Virtual Console and how that will work but I'm wary of tying any more purchases to a dead system. At least with the Wii U we had the option of accessing our old virtual console games in Wii mode but of course that's not an option this time!

Going though some of my Wii games currently replaying House of the Dead: Overkill and holy gooseberry fool I forgot how amazing it was. Insane that Sega and Namco didn't put a Virtua Cop or Time Crisis on the Wii, huge missed opportunity there :fp:

I've still barely played that. Maybe something to let off some steam tomorrow. :)

Incredibly fun game.

Dead Space Extraction was also pretty good.

I guess the Wii was the last true lightgun platform (with the IR stuff), that thanks to the sensor bar, actually works on modern TVs. The games are often gooseberry fool really, but it might be a nice small collection to enjoy the format in the future.

Dug out Nintendoland last night for some impromptu multiplayer... What an utter clusterfuck that turned out to be :dread:

Choose a game, ready to play, oh its not a multiplayer one, oh well lets choose another, wait it doesn't tell you it's multiplayer or not unless you use the quick select menu. OK then. Select Miis, oh you need a motion plus wiimote, ffs, unplug that one and get my motion plus one. Game is really unintuitive so we have to sit through 5 mins of tutorials just to figure out how to have one game. Change to another game, oh now you have to take the nunchuck out, ok then. Hold the remote like this and now sit though another tutorial because its not clear how the game works. Wave the gamepad around like a fool instead of just use the stick because nintendo and strawberry floating motion controls. Change to another game, hold the remote sideways now. Why cant i just use it with the nunchuck to move? BECAUSE strawberry floating strawberry float YOU USE IT SIDEWAYS FOR NO REASON, now watch a boring tutorial again because the game makes no sense otherwise. Oh and the gamepad controls 2 characters now for no real reason which makes it unbalanced in favour of player 1 so its no fun. All the other decent games are single player only so you just have to take turns.

What a load of shite that game is :fp: Compare that with wii sports.

"oh its tennis, i swing it then" Done.

Awful awful game.
