Darksiders: Warmastered Edition is £5.99 in the eShop Halloween sale. Things may be getting spooky but the U lives on :toot: .

Well my Wii U is about to get taken behind the farm house and shot with both barrels like old yeller. I'm boxing it up to go in to the loft where it'll probably come down again for a bit of family Wii sports on new years eve, but it's probably never going to get used again. Ill probably look at ripping all my games to my pc to play with dolphin and cemu from now on, then get rid of it all.

Dog gooseberry fool console with great games. Easily my least favourite Nintendo machine ever.

True. I didn't really like the GameCube either.

Through Miiverse I felt far more connected to other gamers than I have on any other console. On most consoles, interactions are generally summed up as “Strawberry-float you for cheating / winning / losing you piece of gooseberry fool” whilst on Wii U I actually communicated with folk, drew stuff and could chill out.

I liked the portability of the Gamepad and it was basically my main internet device for nearly four years. I never really got the joint Gamepad / TV play approach, though - whilst fantastic for local multiplayer games like Nintendo Land, I didn’t like looking between the two screens for single player gaming.

I wish Nintendo had delivered more software during the first year... the “no gaems” meme could never be shaken off even when there were plenty of great games. But, hey, we’ve all spoken before about “where Nintendo went wrong” with the U.

I still think the U will become very collectible. No manufacturer is going to issue cheap replacement Gamepads and many of the games will be hard to emulate without one. I really like the machine and, whilst it was never popular, the slim but cool gaming catalogue means that I’ll always keep hold of my machine.

Tl;dr I like the Wii U. Surprise!

I've just set up my Wii u in my bedroom so my boyfriend as well myself can play through Wii and Wii U games, there's too many I want to play to simply box it away. That being said I do have space for it (especially I got rid of lot of Xbox one/360 and PS3/PS4 games to make space) so if space is issue I can see why people would box up Wii U away.

I'm gonna try work on xenoblade 1 since I haven't finished that ...

Today I finally discovered that you can play NES remix with the NES mini controller. This is a very good thing.

Jawa might have beaten the Forest Temple by then too.

If Wii U stuff will be gold then I’lll *own* the temples 8-) .

I think they could do... the hardware even more so, especially as it is unlikely that anyone is going to manufacture replacement Gamepads. The U has a perfect storm to become a cult machine; a popular manufacturer, poor availability and hard-to-emulate games.

Got my shiz, hence new avatar and sig.

Shame I didn't take more screenshots but guess there's not much I can do with them.

Is NES remix 1 (and/or 2) worth a punt at half price?

Alas, now I have a Switch, I unplugged my trusty old Wii U from the TV for the first time in years today, to go into storage.

All in all, I completed the following games on this great system:

Super Mario Wii U
Super Mario 3D World
Mario Kart 8
Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze
Lego City Undercover
Zelda: Twilight Princess

Games I bought but never bother to play:

Pikmin 3
Wonderful 101
Bayonetta 1 & 2
Captain Toad

My favourite game on the system has to be Mario Kart 8, followed closely by Donkey Kong. Mario U was also amazing.

Best Nintendo system since the SNES - loved it, but I think I will love the Switch more.

Is that an add on for the Wii

In shock news, it appears that not only does Wii U finally have a gaem, but it can be obtained from my Nintendo for 100 gold coins.

New Super Luigi U dlc is 100 coins.

I saw that and I do have enough gold coins but... yeah, I am never going to complete Mario Bros U let alone play a load of harder levels.

I’ll save my coins for the impending arrival of Switch rewards. Which have been “coming soon” since March.

I've had 720 platinum points expire

Got 280 gold points that begin to expire at the end of March too. I don't think I have collected any for my physical switch collection either?

But what do I do with them
