It's been crap ever since they got rid of Club Nintendo, there's nothing I really wanted. Got good amount of platinum ones expired and I've not spent 1gold on anything yet.

"Discount for old game you can probably get cheaper physical even without discount code" yeah thanks

Definitely and even more so if you happen to have a mini NES controller as that works on Wii U.

Just logged into the U eShop for the first time in ages... man, it still has a much better vibe than the Switch eShop! A jolly Christmas tune and festive imagery - great stuff :D . Plenty of Virtual Console releases, too :o .

Anyway, there are a few sale offers that are worth a look including Tekken TAG Tournament £5, Shantae: Risky's Revenge £3, Pac Ghostly 2 £6, SteamWorld Heist £4, Runbow £4, Toki Tori 60p, One Piece Unlimited World Red £10, Swords & Soldiers 91p and Toki Tori 2+ £3.

Shantae half genie hero is £10 also , I'd get it as shantae feels at home on Nintendo and the gamepad use is good.

I'm considering chucking my u on eBay but I have a question that I can't find a definitive answer for.

The u came with Mario kart preinstalled (I didn't use a code to add it to my account it was already installed) does that stay with he console on reset like preinstalled 3ds games or is that now tied to my Nintendo account?

No idea, but if you're definitely selling it you could check yourself after factory resetting

I think it depends if you had an NNID on the console.

I believe that, once you add one, the game becomes tied to that account, and can't be unlinked and left on the system.

The Nintendo Repairs site has an online chat option, so could be worth a look for quick definitive confirmation.

Decided not to sell but want to try and find a cheap pro controller somewhere so I can play with that as I think that will be more comfortable and might mean I stick with the games more.

Official Pro Controllers are hard to find and quite expensive. Another option could be a third-party controller which are far cheaper. You can see replicas on Ebay and they're about £13 delivered. I've not tried these but lots have been sold.

The PRO controller is wonderfully comfy and once I'd got one, I put away the piece of gooseberry fool gamepad and never used it again :toot:

That's a shame! Official versions are quite expensive, even second-hand. This one is described as "pristine" and costs £39.

If you're able to view the controller in a local branch of CEX then that could be a good option. If you're looking on eBay, try putting "Official" in the search title - like this.

Your call, dude, but personally I wouldn't buy a "random" second-hand version through, say, Amazon. At least on eBay you can view pictures of the product.

Or, if you're up for a go at eBay bidding, this auction for a brand new official Pro Controller runs to 20:41 tonight.

Tis a tough it's seems the things become gold dust!

The reviews of the afterglow one see pretty good other than them having analogue triggers that works like normal ones as the U doesn't do analogue triggers, but they are easy to get and 20 quid.

I saw that new on eBay may through a bid at it although I expect it will rocket as it comes to a close.

I waded into them in early-mid 2013 when everyone was "lol @ Wii U!" and, briefly, they were twenty quid a shot 8-) .

Yeah, I suspect that eBay auction price will ramp up later. I might keep an eye on it... ;) .
