They hadn't made a 3rd party controller since 2013 so I didn't do one of those 8-)

I thought the official one was listed on Amazon and sold by Amazon for £25?

Edit: oh they're all used, strawberry floating hell.

£100 new !! gooseberry fool I should have got one.

Yeah, officlal Pro Controllers in decent condition are hard to find now, Gecko.

Things like the Gamepad and Gamepad stands / charging dock are probably gonna be hard to locate in good* condition, too.

* not eBay "good" - which generally, in my view, means ropey - but "as new" condition.

Only the truly awesome will want them, those that recognise it for the premium, elite gaming device that it is.

I have a feeling that the U will be a cult machine in years to come. It's got the classic signs; popular manufacturer, relatively low sales, some excellent games and hard-to-replicate equipment (that Gamepad is gonna become difficult to obtain). Then again, some folk get a little carried away with the "low sales" line... it still sold more than the Dreamcast and the Master System!

>Some excellent games

Wonderful 101 - Haven't played, seems to be mixed reception though.
Mario 3D World - A disappointment not being an actual 3D Mario, but decent I guess
New Super Mario Bros. U - Decent but it's just a NSMB game
Pikmin 3 - Good
Xenoblade X - Good

Everything else is either a remake, a port, been ported to another console, or not notable.

You can get pretty good Chinese clones, just have to know where to look/get it from a reputable source.

I bought one for about £8, came fully boxed (proper Nintendo box and everything), and I can't tell the difference from the official one and the Chinese one.

I obviously got unlucky as the one I got was gooseberry fool, the thumb sticks were awful, it just didn't want to to do fine movement it would do nothing then sort of lunge left or right or whatever you could be precise.
