Looks like a focus on Switch games which pleases me, not sure about the 2017 part though, does that mean we won't see 2018 games? No Retro

Good, at least theyll be showing more than 1 game and it looks like there will be a big focus on gameplay rather than trailers. The hype starts now! :D

Didn't they say they were just going to show Zelda last year, and ended up showing more? So I'm hopeful we'll see some 2018 stuff, even if it's just teased. I'm really looking forward to hearing about VC too. I hope we finally get some announcements regarding that. I have a horrible feeling we won't see VC until their online subscription service launches though.

I'm primarily looking forward to Super Mario Odyssey and Xenoblade Chronicles 2, and presumably both will be highlighted substantially. A lot of the news regarding the score and music for Xenoblade Chronicles 2 has me hopeful that it might actually hit that 2017 date. They don't typically tend to score these type of games until the latter stages of the development cycle.

It's scary how close E3 is though. It's like a month away. A month and 2 days for Nintendo's 'Spotlight'.

We already know about Xenoblade, Fire Emblem Warriors and Mario Odyssey and it'll be great to see more of them. I'm sure Arms and Splatoon 2 will both have a decent presence as well, even if E3 is relatively close to their release date.

The 2017 does slightly concern me though, as much as I'm looking forward to the titles I've already mentioned I want to know what else is on the horizon. Hoping we get at least Smash Bros and Pokemon by the start of 2018.

Most of all I'm hoping we hear something about the virtual console, would love them to adopt a proper subscription service but I'm just hoping we get a big amount of titles available for it from day one. If the NES mini team are working on it then hopefully we'll get some good emulation too this time around, I really want the options for scanlines, upscaling etc. Even better if they announce the virtual console will launch immediately after the show. Wishful thinking though.

I'd like to see something new that isn't Mario or an RPG. I expect to be disappointed.

Miner taking responsibility for the Nintendo E3 thread then. Good man.

In related news expect an update on GRcades own E3 coverage in the next couple of weeks.

Back on topic though, can't say I'm surprised by any of this though. On top of the stuff they've mentioned I'm hoping for some third party surprises and a tease of some 2018 stuff. No more, no less.

How Nintendo fans read a Nintendo announcement

How normal people see a Nintendo announcement.

I've heard the actual E3 Direct will be about half an hour. Which isn't great to be honest, but they always follow it up with loads of Treehouse Live footage and gameplay.

Hoping for some new announcements, but not too confident. It's gonna be all Mario, some Pokémon and Splatoon I think.

30 minutes.

Not a lot of time, and they're supposedly going to be revealing two new games in it as well - one is rumored to be a Blizzard game, maybe both.

So no 3DS? Excellent. Let it die, along with all the Fire Emblem games it's getting.

Seriously though I'm glad they'll be focusing on Switch.
