Why at all is there no 2 player

That is the dumbest decision goddamn

I'm guessing there's a game design reason behind this. If not then, yes, pretty dumb.

I'm eager to hear more about this game. We're 2 months to release. You think they would be hyping this up some.

It's just that I played through all of FSA with one friend (both of us controlling 2 Links each), and I was hoping we could do a similar co-op experience with this game. Finding a third person will make it a lot more difficult to organise and play through.

Hopefully it won't be too hard to get three people together from here. My body 3DS is ready.

Some of the best gaming experiences have come from user created content and entire franchises have been born from mods. Game designers aren't infallible gods.

Never said they were but I just prefer the content to be made by the people who made the game rather than having to trawl through 300 pages of levels shaped like penises or that are unfinished or just broken.

Take the Steam Workshop content for Civ V for example, there's loads of custom units/civs on there but there's just so much gooseberry fool that even with ratings its still almost impossible to find content as good (or as balanced) as that made by Firaxis themselves.

I don't mind ugc being an optional extra but whole games built around it don't interest me at all.

I do agree to a certain extent, Ironhide. The creation tools in this game look to be excellent and I love how easy it seems to make stuff... but 95% of levels uploaded will be completely rubbish.

This aspect had put me off... but the tools and potential or so cool that I am back on-board. There will be reams of pony, but hopefully the scarce gems will make it all worthwhile. I am looking forward to building stuff (which may add to the rubbish :shifty: ) and seeing what GRcadians make :-).

I wouldn't rule out user generated content just because not all of it will be excellent, even in a game built around the idea of users designing their own levels. We have the resources to sift great games out of the mountains of rubbish available so I'd be surprised if Super Mario Maker is bombarded with terrible ideas.

Balancing custom units is a lot harder than designing a level or, in the case of Civ V, a map but it's still only one example. I managed to mod The Witcher games and even Civ V itself without much trouble thanks to Google and the Steam Workshop.

Games based on user generated content aren't inherently bad, they just need good delivery systems and/or word of mouth. These days, it's hard not to hear about something great in gaming thanks to the internet, especially if you're browsing a forum like this. Garry's Mod is completely reliant on user generated content but a lot of people with a Steam account can tell you about Trouble in Terrorist Town or Prop Hunt.

Well, Animal Crossing Happy Home Designer is now off my list; I've read and watched around a dozen reviews and, although the game is beautifully presented, the core gameplay just doesn't appear to be a patch on the traditional AC style. Somewhat disappointedly, I'm out.

Which doesn't leave too much on my "want" list from a Nintendo perspective. With Star Fox delayed, there's just Xenoblade now. I may even hold off from that as I'd prefer a digital copy and when the December release date rolls around I hope to be deep into Fallout 4. It feels like Mario Maker could be my final Wii U game for 2015... and in terms of the 3DS I think Xenoblade Chronicles is the only title I've bought this year  .

I'll definitely be getting Chibi-Robo! Zip Lash and as far as Wii U goes (what's left anyway), I still think Maiden of the Black Water looks like a more interesting game than Xenoblade does (though I'll probably end up with both).
