Nah, too anal for my liking. I just didn't find it fun at all.

That's F1 Championship Edition. A PS3 launch title, and a little outdated now as far as the roster goes.

At least they got the name of Codemasters as the developer right!
Agree with people about the Wii - it's just not up to the task. A F1 game needs to be technically and graphically top notch for realism and that can only be done on 360/PS3.
I'm not sure why they're bothering with the PSP version either.

I would agree with this if only for the fact the Wii is seen as the more 'fun' console and a dull, po faced F1 sim seems out of place next to Excitebots and Mario Kart. Ill keep my trick-busting, high speed mechanoids thanks.

God forbid a console get's a diverse range of games. You're right, we should just release nothing but casual gooseberry fool on the Wii, actual gooseberry fool on the PS3 and Halo games on the 360.

I think you're missing the point. Modern racing sims are all about pin-sharp graphics and silly amounts of mind-bending calculations behind the scenes. The Wii simply isn't capable of that to the extent that the 360 and PS3 are.

Yeah, because there were no racing sims worth any mention last generation, and certainly not on the Playstation 2.

That hardly means the quality isn't there. If you dont like realistic driving games, why enter an F1 thread?

Perhaps you would rather play-

Thats because the racing sim is practically dead, hence the popularity of Pure, Mario kart, Burnout paradise, motorstorm, WipEout HD and Excitetruck.

For most gamers Arcade thrills > sim dullness. Surely most gamers prefer Daytona to Gran Turismo?

I was being sarcastic, and specifically had GT3 and 4 in mind.

At the end of the day racing sims require effort. Anybody looking to slot a racing game in to the disc tray for an exciting experience will be disappointed without tinkering with settings and tune options. However, if you do, it's there for the taking, eclipsing any arcade experience.

So, to those who moan, you've only got yourself to blame. More importantly don't buy a 'sim' game.

SugarCubes, have you tried a full weekend yet?

Yeah, it's the only mode I play.

I love to tinker with the car setup - I did a full distance Bahrain GP (fastest lap was a 1.30) a couple of days ago but I crashed in the final stint after opening up a 8 second lead. I used too much kerb and it speared me off into the barrier destroying the rear. :fp:

The game works well with the G25, the forcefeedback could have been a lot better though - I don't like the constant vibration (very loud and it shakes my TV  ) and it could've done with more resistance when cornering.

Oh snap.

I've done a full weekend, full lap race at Bahrain too. If I remember correctly I managed to get up to about 2nd place but 3 laps from the end, shattered from concentration, I run up a kerb on a tight corner and lost two places. I was absolutely gutted.

Regarding full race weekends in F1:CE...I love the way the game tutors you on car set-up...you go through this testing process and you can choose what works best. It really is the best system out there...even beginners can get something out of it.
