I know it's a minor thing, but...

I so dislike that "A Ubisoft Original" they now stick under their game titles. To be fair, I'm not a fan when any producer does it, not just Ubisoft.

It just looks so stuck on, out of place and unnecessary.

"A" is correct in this instance; it's driven by pronunciation rather than spelling. Although usually - as you suggest! - "an" would be used before a word starting with a vowel but that has a consonant sound (an elephant, an envelope etc), if the start of the word forms a vowel sound (Ubisoft... oo... or you...) than "a" is used.

Nah, if it's pronounced 'you-bisoft' it should be 'a'.

It derives from “ubiquitous software”.

Jawa, my man! I couldn't agree more. They've stolen the phrase from streaming services, where it actually makes sense, and it really irks me every time I see it. It's just such a ridiculous marketing buzz phrase and I'm so glad no other game companies have copied so far.

It's like Ubisoft are determined to make the phrase stick but it just sounds so embarrassingly pretentious.

Come on, my grammar is appalling at times and even I can see "An Ubisoft" sounds wrong

Not if you pronounce it Oobisoft with a particularly outrageous French accent.

Yeah, this and Uplay (is it still called that?) ensure I'll never play a Ubisoft game ever again.

Except the many instances where a streaming service has just bought a show that was originally produced by someone else, usually in another country, then slapped Netflix original (or example) on it.
