Twitch drops start today, and it looks like the new expedition is going to revolve around being a space pirate.

The way this game has been continually expanded over the course of six years - at no additional cost - is incredible.

Apparently the Switch version will arrive during the summer. I'm super excited to see how the game will run on Switch... and a little apprehensive, too!

Edit: That "No Man's Sky Nintendo Switch Edition" title makes me think that it could be a cutdown version? Hopefully we'll soon find out more.

Nope, my fears were unfounded - apparently it'll contain all of the existing twenty updates :o . If this turns out well then it could be one of the biggest (in scope rather than file size) games on Switch!

Wonder when this will launch on Switch, feels like a good July/August release, keen to see how it runs/looks.

How is this as a game? I've read such good reviews on it, as I understand you can just fly around the Universe land on different planets and such and explore? It looks very grindy so maybe not something I can get the time in at the moment but it's always intrigued me

I haven't played it for a couple of years now, gaminglegend, but it's very much a "make your own fun" game; a massive sandbox galaxy. There's lots to do but you determine where and when. I think it's fantastic but it probably isn't for folk who prefer more structured, objective-driven games.

I can't quite believe that this game is coming to Switch. I'm still wondering about how it'll run... but I have hope!

This version won't feature multiplayer but, personally, I'm not too fussed about that. Until relatively recently the chances of meeting another player where slim anyway. It will, however, feature all of the main updates made since the game originally launched on PS4 back in 2016.

Along with Portal Compendium, this is the game that I'm most excited too see arrive on Switch :-).

Really tempted to get this on Switch, it'll basically be a different game to when I played it at launch on PS4 and portability is very appealing.

The website says this

No Man’s Sky Switch Edition will launch as a single-player experience. As an award-winning live service game, the Switch Edition will continue to benefit from ongoing development post launch"

So maybe it will be added later down the line? Was multiplayer just the fact you could see other players online?

Yeah, I think they're looking to see if the Switch version could support multi player, Milner. I haven't played the PS4 version for some time now but back then it was pretty much single-player focused; but with more recent updates, multi player missions and visiting buildings are possible.

Six years after launch, *another* big free update for the game! Developers often get plenty of stick nowdays - and, rightly or wrongly, Hello Games were battered at launch! - but I feel that they deserve a lot of credit for what they've delivered over the past few years.

I’m quite looking forward to playing this when the Switch version drops, wonder if all this new content will be available day one.
